Siege at Okamchira (or whaever the name)
Anyone who played Siege at O.... has learned that the Chechens can almost never win. Unless the British side is only composed of a drunk dog or a monkey, the Chechens will not win. I think that a way to improve that is by giving the chechens more tickets, more boats, some techies/bdrms or even better, a T62. A tank won't make too much difference as the TOW/SRAW on the UK team will kill it quickly. Still, something has to be done about this map to make it playable for both sides, or it will quickly dissapear from server's playlist.

Assets does not always equal fix-map.

it is meant to be a difficult map...honestly...thats how it was planned...think of the challenge as more... "how not to lose" rather than "how to be the winner"
a smart chechen team can win the map can they not? reward intelligence.

+1, I'm pretty sure irl, a besieged team wouldn't just automatically lose their foothold of their defenses for no reason and let the enemies become the victor, they've already fallen back so much, this map's made to be sort of like a last stand for the British, I think.[R-DEV]IronTaxi wrote:it is meant to be a difficult map...honestly...thats how it was planned...

Its a disgustingly bad map.Dev1200 wrote:Assets does not always equal fix-map.

See this thread for those reasons.

I like it, had a great round when the entire Chechen side attacked from the East. Difficult, but ends up being quite fun if played right. However, it could use up a bit more of that space, that is a lot of area unused on that map.
C'mon man, you have to word things a little differently, I certainly wouldn't like people talking that way about my map.

Indeed. I think this is the main problem why people think it's a bad map. Reduce CPs count in factory and spread them over the map (there are really beautiful places, which can never be seen by defending side, because they always sitting at factoryChiefRyza wrote:However, it could use up a bit more of that space, that is a lot of area unused on that map.

Yep, just like they suggested in the other thread, have some control point outside of the docks/factory, whatever, in the forest and only when those flags fall and the Brits are pushed back, should they make the docks cappable.

I'm not trying to make friends with CodeRedFox, if you read the thread you'll see what I mean. It is my most hated map and seems like a total waste of time. He can take my thoughts with a grain of salt if he so wishes. One can deny that its a bad map, however one cannot deny the legions of people who seem to be against it.ChiefRyza wrote: C'mon man, you have to word things a little differently, I certainly wouldn't like people talking that way about my map.
The mindset with alot of people here seems to be spam the thread with 'awesome job man, I love the Dev's!' without any true construction at all. I haven't posted anything constructive here because there already is a thread about this where I, and many others, have.

dtacs, please remember that you are in the DEV's house, respect is mandatory for all users.
I'd actually support a T62 being included, the map does feel like attacking a castle without a battering ram. However I do have fun on the map anyway on both teams.
If the chech could deploy their AT guns like TOW positions, it would be much better
like a light arty position
but the entire map is quite lovely, would love it to be opened up - at least in the 32 layer

I feel if all the flag's were cappable, would increase the playability.
Also would love to see the Brits have to attack the harbour from a ship, but that needs a ship, so yeah...

Careful there. I respect the devs as much as the next guy, they made an excellent mod, put in hours of work and have made something which truly deserves recognition.
You speak as if I attack the devs themselves, and not the map in which one has made. 'L2read', one would say here

hmm... Map is fun to play so I dont see much problem here. They could add couble extra flags outside of british base. It would give more variety for battle environment.

About having organized chechen squads and team....; well, it is fairly hard to obtain something like that especially since it indirectly demands a clan on the chechen team. About the AT guns, well, i wouldn't mind those, at all, they are awesome, but what would be even better would be like a BTR 60 to transport the chechens in the island(brit area). Or more arty/ less waiting time for it, especially since we need some arty cover to perform a relatively succesful attack.

Re: Siege at Okamchira (or whaever the name)
Sorry if it might sound off-topic.
But I find Siege at Ochimachira to be like an extreme reversed version of Seven Gates.
Maybe if there were flags set outside the main 'fortress' like on 7Gates, it would open opportunities for both brits and militias to do something else. However, I fear the removal of the death dome might distract brits too much from defending their stronghold.. just like on 7G actually.
Just a little observation of mine.

Maybe u play this map in PUBS always... in a war clan sure its a perfect map to make a inserction or assault like chechen. I really like the map, if its difficult, its better to think in the tactic to play and not in the form of complain.

its a awsome map, a bit hard for the rebels
my only problem with it is that it lags like a mofo when you look towards the center
