8-) Muttrah Music is just perfect. I think I'll put it on my MP3 and everytime I send my squad to attack a position, I'll broadcast with positional audio from Mumble, just so we can get in the mood
Guys, when a new player comes, just answer his question and go on your merry way, instead of going berserk! It's THAT simple! :D

The music in 0.9 suits me much better than the old music. Opinions about music is like asses: Everybody got one.

The "main theme" is great but doesn't really fit into this sort of "combat simulation" imho. Could be a bit more "intense", but again, that's just my opinion. The rest of the songs vary from being good-but-not-THAT-good (like... Jabal?) to amazing. Still, I have the music volume turned down to around 15% (otherwise I couldn't hear my clanmates on teamspeak :) ).

Honestly, I liked them equally, the quality is just as good and in some cases, even more fitting for the map.

The new PR Soundtrack is great, I miss the Karbala intro song but other than that I dont see why the old track is better than this one.

I like that the music is well-crafted and rhythmic.

I also like that it is subtle, it's like a nice bit of elevator music while you load in; it's not overbearing.

What i've done is replace some of the terrible loading music with the older PR tracks which were much better IMO. Although, it's limited to what you can change it to because if you add any new music files to the common_client.zip, PB kicks you from the server.

To alter a levels loading music without being kicked, go into C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\pr\levels , then into the map folder which you want to change the music for, then open the "info" folder, then open "levelname.desc".

For an example, opening kashan's file looks like this at the top:

<map gsid="5055">
<name> Kashan Desert </name>
<briefing locid="MAPDESCRIPTION_kashan_desert">map description for modders maps not localized (english only)</briefing>
<music> common/sound/menu/music/map7.ogg </music>
<modes>

This is the text you want to be changing to alter the loading music for that particular level. To change this particular track back to the 0.87 one, the text "map7.ogg" you should replace with "PirateX-Desert_Heat.ogg".

To find out the filenames for different music that can be used, open your common_client.zip in your PR directory, go into sound>menu , and then copy+paste the filename you want into the "levelname.desc" for that level.

Disagree with the guitar thing, I think it adds a solemn theme to some of the songs, and a deep...bad attitude (difficult to explain) to them as well. It isn't like its being totally shredded or something like that. Personally the best music out of any version, Alkali knows how to compose some brilliant tracks of motion-picture quality.

Money damn well spent on the soundtrack.

Yes it does work, but only if you dont modify the common_client.zip, and only change the loading music to another one that is already in there.

It's not horrible, but I find I turn off the music now, previously I let it play.

I like the Muttrah and Beirut tracks, can't say much about the rest and the only tracks I remember of the older releases are the 0.6 Bi Ming track, for obvious reasons, and the old main menu track.

They're fine in my opinion.

So as the new guy, I gotta ask (being impatient and stupid and all) who composses the pieces for PR? I'm hooked on the Main Menu piece. I'd really like to check out their other work (should there be any).
