About mg/ar/lmg deployed mode
Zooming while deployed mode should be allowed only when player is on prone position. Exactly same way how FH2 mod does the German uber lmg:s handling. IRL nobody cannot make accurate burts and stand. In game, its sadly possible
ops: PKM and mg3 kick like mule so atlest for those guns should not allowe standing/crouch deployed zoomed mode.

"Nobody" is an incredibility broad term ya know.Potilas wrote:Zooming while deployed mode should be allowed only when player is on prone position. Could the deviation just be adjusted/altered, instead of of no scope in??

Re: About mg/ar/lmg deployed mode
Both ways are unrealistic.
Being able to just scope prone: Not being able to scope whistle standing means you cant fire out of windows, over terrain etc when in real life you could simply deploy the bi-pod.
PR system : Can "deploy" on windows etc, but as you said can fire standing with no support accurately.
So both are unrealistic and not perfect so its down to gameplay, and personally i prefer PRs current system.

Re: About mg/ar/lmg deployed mode
notice that it is called "Deployed mode" it simulates that you have rested the bipod on an object an ready to fire which in most cases is fine because not many people stand out in the open fireing an LMG as you are a simple target to spot and hit

^Really!? Based on my epxerience you dont have anything under bibod in most situlations.
^^Im not saying only scope for prone. We have 2 firing modes for mg:s. Deployed and undeployed mode. Im talking about deployed mode so forget all about undeployed mode.
^^^ Vids confirm what I tell in the first post. Look how gun pipe swing

Re: About mg/ar/lmg deployed mode
While your suggestion is partially valid, I want to be able to fire out a window accuratly instead of not at all like in FH2.
Deployed mode can be abused by simply using it standing in the open, but there is no possible way for mountable areas to register in the BF2 engine.
While FH2 system may be more "realistic" PR's is more gamer and gameplay friendly. Making it so you dont have to be in the open to fire your MG.

"Accurate" isn't. Like OP said above "nobody cannot make accurate burts and stand". I didn't saw much sharp shooting in your videos.wood_badger wrote:"Nobody" is an incredibility broad term ya know.

personally I'd prefer that standing was bad but crouch was fine, to show that the deployed position requires a stable position, and to further limit the deployed mode

Re: About mg/ar/lmg deployed mode
While you make a perfect sense suggestion we decide that allowing a mode which would imitate resting a weapon on a ledge or widow sill was worth the time when one might just stand up and not rest it.
The plus side to this, besides allowing more defense, is a standing player is a easy target.

"Accurate", usually isn't word associated with mg/ar/lmgs either.clueless_noob wrote:"Accurate" isn't. Like OP said above "nobody cannot make accurate burts and stand". I didn't saw much sharp shooting in your videos.
But I don't necessarily agree or disagree with your comment or OP, in RL anything is possible with enough training.

Why not make undeployed mode more accurate then? It must be too simple solution[R-DEV]CodeRedFox wrote:While you make a perfect sense suggestion we decide that allowing a mode which would imitate resting a weapon on a ledge or widow sill was worth the time when one might just stand up and not rest it.

My inspiration to this thread become from FH2 mod where German lmg:s deployed mode is restricted to prone only. It works there so I dont see why it wont work here. Everything does not have to go around rules of best balance or gameplay. Different weapons behave different way. What comes to all handheld weapons, I prefer realism over gameplay.

FH2 is not PR. Therefore your connection between the 2 is invalid. Anybody who doesnt cover up right beside something will probably loose there life.

Re: About mg/ar/lmg deployed mode
IMO, auto riflemen should have either more deviation per shot, or assault rifles have less deviation per shot. That way the auto rifleman doesn't feel so much as a power weapon, since it can spray accurately on a target.
Anyway, I don't think you can "deploy" onto a window, ledge, etc with the BF2 engine. However, 99% of the time you SHOULD be in cover, and usually you cover by behind behind something that you can put your bipod on.

Re: About mg/ar/lmg deployed mode
youd be pretty dumb to sight in standing in the middle of the open anyways. Would only do so when behind cover 'deployed' on a ledge/window.
