Description:
When trying to spot with SL and place markers:
Firstly after selecting distance it seems you must repress Q to be able to place a marker that is on either side of the central choices of infantry, rallypoint, FOB and objective.
DBzao shows this here:
YouTube - PR v0.9 preview - Squad Leader Radio and Comms
So that side OK, but about 60% of the time the markers are way way off, I have gone alone onto servers to practise and it's the same
Steps to Reproduce:
Try to place SL markers
Screenshots / Video:
No point but can try
Tested On:
All Maps
Video Settings (if needed):
All Medium AAX2
VGA:
9800GTm
OS
Vista 32
I see this problem very frequently with many SL's markers being wayoff.
I have searched Squad Leader markers and radio ....

I did use it, but have added a few bits, I personally have three friends who have the same, one is win7 and the other IDK, on TG you can see the problems with SL markers appearing all over the place.
It is a great feature and I think this induces reluctance to use it.

Try having a small step forward before placing markers. They are placed where your body is directed, not where you're aiming at.

Thanks for that tip....I was experiencing the same trouble that Ploddit and others were having, and trying the 'small step' then place marker on a local server is working for me, will have to give it a go on a live server.
Once again thankyou!

Yep, that's the solution. I was going to make a post about it, with a video tutorial explaining the issue, but didn't get to do it yet.
But you can see me doing it all the time in my vids, for example this one right in the beginning:
I'm even walking forward while spotting, but just a simple tap in the W key towards the direction you are facing should be enough to swing your body that way.

Cheers, enjoyed spying on the library of films there.
