HighEnd PC and FPS problems

Post by arneboe »

Hi.. I have recently bought a new computer, but i am experiencing problems in PR..

Specs:
Intel i5 750 stock, on Asus p5p77D Deluxe motherboard. 4gb ram and Asus Radeon HD 5850. Running Win 7 x64

What happens is: Loading takes forever, and when i actually is able to join a squad i get random stuttering with FPS drop.. I play BfBc2 as well and i know there is an issue with the ATI 5xxx series having slow loading times, but i have not gotten the laggy image and fps drop in any other game. When i play FPS is around 100 - 150, but suddenly drops to 00.00 or 01.99 etc.. no matter if I am running or standing completely still..

Anyone know what to do?

EDIT: Due to delivery problems i got my graphics card a month and a half after i got the computer.. in the meantime PR was running smoothly on the new machine but on a Nvidia 7950GT and win xp!

Sounds like a network issue (firewall/Punkbuster,etc),how does a local game run?

Should have went with Nvidia, check your CCC panel and make sure everything is set properly and that you have the current stable driver.

I seem to be getting some fps issues and im running on a reasonably high end system:

AMD Phenom II X4 955 3.2GHz, 3072mb RAM, ASUS Radeon HD 4890 1gb. With the 09.17 patch and i still seem to be getting around 15-25 fps when on maps like fallujah west, gaza beach, lashkagar valley. It seems to still be around in the centers of the maps.
