little bird - small resupplies

Post by rough77 »

I've searched the forum but coulnd't find a thread so: the little bird should be able to drop resupplies. they do it in reality, I've seen a video on youtube about a little bird supplying "blackwater" troops.

and btw: creating factions is a MASS of work I guess - but mercenary-armies are on the rise (the largest army in iraq!), so perhaps you could put them in a pipe.

if you check the factions on the forums here, there's already a private security contractor faction in the works.

So what are you suggesting? That littlebirds get crates or ammo boxes to drop? or that there needs to be a mercenary faction incase you didnt know is one already in production ;)

gg... i wanted to be super smart and suggest two things in ONE thread 8)
ok: little bird --> should be able to drop ammo. that's realistic and it would be much more fun flyin' a LB.

ok, that makes it clear and yea it would be cool if you could but on the down side, i dont think transport LB's are even in any maps anymore since they went out of muttrah i have not seen one in 0.9 (Apart from SP :| )

I guess you didn't search very hard then.

Also, the video you mention is on page 5 of the linked thread.

As far as I know, the thread died off before it could reach a conclusion.

Are you talking about the weaponized LB?

Because a large box of ammo weighs A TON.... are you sure a bird with two miniguns and a rocket pod with two pilots can support a small ammo cache?

You could get 5 rifleman to ride along and drop ammo bags.

But, basing your suggestion off the operating procedures of black water isn't going to prove much. (Unless you're suggesting this for the mercenary faction.) I'm pretty sure the US military wouldn't send in a littlebird to drop ammo, not when they have all the other larger and more protected supply helicopters at their disposal.

Yeah but what about the maps that don't have a blackhawk/hi-8/chinook?

A littlebird that drops one ammo crate would be nitfy, but, it would still be able to carry 5 infantry.
