Recycle old pr maps

Post by Sniper77shot »

For Pr:V you should use the old removed maps like Ghost train and Mao valley. It would be a perfect use for them.

there was alot of sick maps in EOD. real sick. if they get a revamp they'd be even better.

Both Ghost Train and Mao Valley have been confirmed as maps for the initial release.

Many of the maps in EoD are "too small" for PR style gameplay.. Sure, maybe okay for pure conquest/capture the flag, but many are just not setup right and can not easily be re-done without screwing up the map.

We do have some new maps that are being worked upon and others that we can rework. I am also looking at recycling some of the older PR maps that are no longer in rotation.. We have a few already that will be good for infantry combat.

Yes, Ghost Train is in the mod build.. Even with the same train and same game play senarios. Although, the stuff on the train cars is not modern day equipment, but T-54's. Tad Sae is in, as is Mao Valley.

There may be some others that with some rework, could also be reused. The only reason to reuse some of the older no longer played maps, it so save some time on developement in order to get you guys playing sooner.

I would like to have seven to ten maps to play on the initial release. I think this would give a good amount of variety for the first go. Then hopefully, add some more or additional maps shortly thereafter.

True, but i liked the general idea of that map. But lets just keep it realistic what you said.

I will be wondering how the 4km maps on PR:V will look like.

i think a Hue City map is in order. real close house-house fighting. not the like one on BFV though...

it could have everything, the perfume river, the bridge that got blown up, etc etc.

ALSO, i think it was called 'siege' or 'outpost' in EOD, that was a sick concept.

Hope they dont have Landing Zone albany in the La Drang, i would better like the other one, Landing Zone X-Ray. The one in We Were Soldiers.......LZ Albany was in La Drang if i get it right, but it wa safter LZ X-Ray.

landign zone albany is where the relief column for x-ray was. they were supposed to march all the way to x-ray, but got hammered. the film only shows half the battle.

So they never succed to get to LZ Xray? So when they stand on top of the hill Hall Moore (Mel Gibson) gets interviewed, their not on LZ Xray? Are they on LZ Albany?

no, no, at the end of the film, they're still on X-ray. but my mistake, it was the two bns that had reinforced X-ray, after Moore had left, they marched to Albany and Columbus and got ambushed. i think the fighting at Albany was as, if not more, intense than at X-ray.

Really?
Colonel Hal Moore,The commanding officer for the battle, was the military advisor for the battle, In the special features he even said that hollywood finally got it right.

I hope they make a few caves... As say, the Vietnamese spawn points.

I have another question. Will the south vietnamese be implemented into this mod?
