LAT/HAT Setup

Post by Wicca »

Hey cant we have the setup like this:

LAT:
m72 (2 ammo) 66 mm
Carl Gustav (1ammo) 84 mm

HAT
ERYX 137 mm

Instead of having the 2 hats you can have 2 Lats, since the Carl Gustav is quite equall to the AT4 84 mm.

I mean seriously, the carl gustav has been in service more.
1948 - Present

Idunno, the m72 was created before the m72, but still the m72 has like 200 m range compared to carl gustav 500 m.

I really really like the Carl Gustav!

You should, and I mean that i a respectful way, check out the facts about Carl Gustav more detailed. Carl Gustav recoilless rifle - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Link shows that the some of the rounds have a range up to 1300 meters.

The possibilities to vary the round makes CG a very versatile infantry squad weapon.

Comparing the Carl Gustav, especially the newest fiberglass variant, to a M72 is therefore not very relevant. Also comparing it to a AT4 is somewhat inaccurate.

How this should affect load-out and gameplay I have no clue. I'm just being picky about technical stuff and realism.

Keep up the good work - I would love to use the "RFK" in-game!

would the carl gustav be the right click alternative kit then?
I don't think giving the rifleman-AT two Law's would be good idea, instead you might consider to compensate the calibre and accuracy of the CG with deploy and settle time

In the ADF the Gus is used in the Medium Defensive Direct Fire support weapon role, we use it in the Dismounted infantry role, a standard Light Inf Platoon can have up to 3xM3's in it (dispersed amongst the Maneuver Support Section) the M72 is basically now used as a light anti structure weapon, for use against bunkers and such and as such about every second infantryman has one. for use against heavy armor the ADF now uses the javelin system.
maybe countries like ours that use the CG can have a "new class" of Medium Anti Tank?
the new optics on the M3 mean it's accuracy out to 1000m's has gotten even better (dependent on the munitions i should add)

The Norwegian LAT kit will be like the others, Left and Right click only gives you a aimpoint with magnifier or only aimpoint.

The HAT kit dosen't change the scope on the main rifle and the Carl Gustav aren't used by small units like squads.

So the HAT and sniper kit will be the one where you can change the Eryx with an Carl Gustav RFK, or M82A1 with a Hk 417.

I think thats the best solution and its more like the real Norwegian military setup. 8)
In CSS "Combat Service Support" where I am are MG3 and M72 a squad weapon for our normal 8 man sized squads.

The future with Carl Gustav copared to Eryx is that there is less deploy time. But the negative part is that the "misil" cant be controlled after "take off". But it will be the users choice to decide if the Carl Gustav RFK are more usefull for the mission than the Eryx.
