Camo change for US army.

Post by mrnothing »

First - I just wanted to point out that this isn't a request. Really. Was just wondering what the Dev team plans to do about this.

So apparently all OEF (operation enduring freedom in Afghanistan) deployments will be issued Multicam instead of ACU. I don't know about UCP and what they plan to do with that camo but it is being field tested.
LTC Cummings of the Army Public Affairs Office has confirmed that the Secretary of the Army, the Honorable John McHugh approved a plan today to begin the fielding of MultiCam uniforms and individual equipment as soon as possible. Sources have informed Soldier Systems Daily that the Army plans to begin issuing as early as July of this year for Afghanistan bound troops and to complete the initial fielding by May of 2011.

A DoD news release about the Secretary’s approval also stated that the Army remains committed to completing phase IV of the camouflage project which will develop a long-term strategy for the Army.

Are there any plans to actually incorporate this into the next PR update for the US army in Afghan maps ? or will it only be incorporated when all deployments get the new pattern.

Cause i'm not asking the dev team to incorporate it. Just wondering what there thoughts on it. It could be seen as a suggestion though as i'm telling them about the new camo change and that they should consider switching it. But then again, it is up the mil adviser too. dun know : \

Will be interesting, however since camouflage is relatively impractical on PR (except for CADPAT on Yamalia) its not really that major.

Just a question, will they be developing new division patches for use with Multicam, or do the UCP patches work well with it?

Has anyone noticed that there's a guy using an xbox controller in the picture?

"Hang on gaiz, I'm 2 kills away from a tactical nuke :P "

But yeah, I know they use it for drones and stuff :p

It looks quite good, apparently its 30% more effective than BDU's from what I heard. But in practice its total ****.

Except for a few spots..

there will never be a 1 camo for all uniform... unless your a chameleon and can blend into everything...

And you like CADPAT on yamalia ahaha.. first digital pattern in the world, and probably the best

I think its thanks to the black colour in it, somehow it blends in with the shadows of the pine trees really well, and since the light green is digitized it blends in with the tree itself.

Firstly, resuggestion. Secondly, if you want to discuss something but not suggest it for the mod, please use our many other forum sections to do so. Thirdly, the development team is aware of the changes being made and PR will be modified if and when the time is right.

The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.
