Post by AnThRaX-NL »

I just accidently managed to get to this link and appearantly Project Reality v0.917 is coming down tomorrow huh?

Has this been announced? Just wondering, is it just a bug fix or will there be things added?

Thanks

ITs just bug fixes so its no big realease, but its good that it comes out :)

I found this sentence quite funny and since this is a war game forum I will put it here. No offense to the french just a good laugh.

Although lightly noted as map optimizations it should make four or more maps playable for a large portion of the player base that couldn't play the maps at all in .909 due to extremely low FPS or rubber banding such as Dragonfly, Fallujah West, Gaza Beach, Silent Eagle's Village area...

It is a huge release for me just for the map fixes, even if the size isn't that big.

Prepare for 'omg its like a bigger SAW!' threads :) I think it will finally be useful for what it was intended to be used for, long range covering fire.

Nope, 4x zoom is for stationary LMG's, not for HMG's.

From the changelog:
Updated Deployable MG nests to have 4x zoom.

Deployable MG nests are the .50 cal with the sandbags that you build. I'm fairly certain those are considered HMGs.

OMG! You might be right. HMG with 4x zoom = superduper pwnage!

Good news, I usually avoided those makes like the plague because of the FPS issues.

I hope it is the same FPS as the other maps.

Hmm I wonder if it'll fix the lag I have every 30-60 minutes on every map. Got a new driver from Nvidia, hope that will help a little too.

I'm right ;)

I will be placing one or two at every FoB from now on where they can actually over watch a long approach, and I look forward to sitting in them and being able to see what I'm shooting at.

Also, it is an optional zoom like the TOW, you don't have to be zoomed in all the time.

Anyone know if the zoom is on the iron sights or if they actually get a scope?

I know but I'm not going to say whether a scope is involved since it is not yet officially released and that is not listed in the change log. I think you will be happy with how it is implemented ;)
