there are no nightmaps in PR since there are problems with the BF2 engine that can not be fixed, this is why i guess, there will be no nightmaps in PR:V as well

but then again the problem would be, that people tune their monitors for better view and so on, I still think, nightmaps sound great, but they are simply no fun

Afaik there where very few instances of a passive night vision system being used, wich is nowhere close near the current NVG's,and would not be worth inplementing

This comes pretty close to night imo.

same is said for some of PR's darker maps such as Fools road.

If night maps come to PR:V they must obviously NOT be pitch black, however there is a very nice full moon sky texture which allows the gameplay to continue with impaired vision, but more importantly - the night time ambiance.

done properly a night map would be excellent, done badly it would fail miserably.

Fortunately for PR:V it is very very easy to convert maps to night, and could even be done using only server.zips probably, so theres lots of scope.

If there's night maps to be had, then the Battle of Lima Site 85 would be interesting - especially if you combine the actual battle and the earlier NVPAF air attack

the only NVG that was used in Vietnam was what they called a Starlight scope, which was the early version of the NVGs used today. it was way too big and not alot of units used it, so it proably wont be needed in PRv.

yes but it was completely to big to be worn on your head like you can these days and first generation night vision wasn't that good i believe there was a scope of some sort that had no power it was just an aid...

there was however a scope "AN/PVS-2 Starlight scope"

People always think night maps are going to be awesome - but they always suck and no one plays them.

Yep, the concept sounds great, but it really is frustrating and annoying.

Or early morning, like Silent Eagle.
