Bots shoots through trees!

Hi, we all know the bots shoots and see you through the trees in woodland maps. Now to fix this shouldnt be too hard. Just shorten the range the bots use difrent types of weapons in.

Also im sure probaply everyone gets pissed off by the bots in maps like Fools Road and Op. Barracuda when playing coop. So it would really be nice of you to do this.

Also if you have no clue how to, you could use diffrent archives like the factions use.

If this were done, the bots would not be able to engage targets effectively in an open space.

They are actually shooting through the branches and needles. The coniferous trees in game do not have collision meshes on anything but the trunk, so the bots are able to "see" and shoot right through something that completely obscures a player's view.

You mock him, but he does have a point. Whether it can be fixed or not, I don't know and I don't really care because I don't play wooded maps when playing co-op. But I did get bored a couple of hours ago, and my internet was down and I decided to play a round by myself on Operation Barracuda and got annihilated by the Chinese [R-BOT] team.

I've noticed the same thing about ArmA2, but that's a whole nother thread.

Ive shot through trees on asad khal, what is a load of wood going to do to stop a bullet or 20?

I haven't noticed that but I got a question, why when bots shoot with any kind of weapon event the apache's gun they spray the whole field with bullets and they miss only that what they are shooting?

It really depends what difficulty you put bots at, at lowest they can't really do much but charge you firing full auto and at highest they can headshot you at like 800m.

As you may have noticed, the bot team consists out of android copies of the PR Team staff. We can simply conclude that the PR Team is that leet.

I don't know where you're coming from, personally I have few issues with bots firing through trees and I haven't seen anyone complain about being shot through trees on Co-Op, in fact I had more issues with bots shooting through undergrowth than trees.
I will give that getting caught in one of those overgrowth fields by the bots is a nightmare though.

I guess that would make a difference for me, as I play with them at the highest difficulty. The thing that mainly pisses me off is- "Sweet, the Cobra is here....shit bot took it. Ammo has been shot off....and they kill themselves and waste the helo and I have to wait for a new one."

Oh yeah, another question? why do bots have unlimited supplies of ammo? i was flying the apache on kashan and my copilot was bot and he was shooting the hellfires like hydras 10 at once?

yes, bots can't resupply, thus they have unlimited ammo (hardcoded bf2)

the point with the trees would only be fixable by adding 2 crossing planes to every tree that block the bots sight (but are invisible to humans), but it would have to be done to every used treemodel ingame (thats as well a way, to get smoke nades working with bots)

Ah, if smoke worked for bots, it would be much more helpful
But I guess doing that to every tree and bush would be quite a feat?
I also have a question, does deviation affect the bots?

In PR, the mod team owns you even in offline games.

If you do not want to get shot through a tree, take cover behind a SOLID cover.

Besides, bots are dumb, you should be able to flank them easily.

I see, thanks. Can they see through high grass in cornfields aswell ?

This is not about winning or killing bots, its about making them more realistic.
