Ground textures not appearing

I have recently installed the patch (V 0.917) and after having played on several different servers have discovered that on all of them my ground texture do not appear. All that appears is wither the sky box below or water in some cases The odd thing is if I am looking at an object through the ground the ground texture will appear, but translucent. Should I install the full version of 0.917 instead of the patch? Or, should I edit a setting or file.

I had this too, running the game windowed fixed the problem, so I haven't really looked into it much beyond that. Are you using two monitors by any chance?

I use Win 7 and I am using 2 monitors, is that the problem why the ground textures don't appear?
