Re: What happened to the old released maps!?
Yes.
PR's file size is fairly limited due to the sheer amount of data that goes into it, think that the current size is over 3GB to download and then imagine how much bigger it would be if all past maps were included...
Therefore with that in mind old, poor quality maps are removed as they become outdated and are replaced by maps with greater quality, more statics etc and far superior design.
Don't worry though, as many of the old maps will be coming back in a separately downloadable add on map pack.

"I love the smell of napalm in the morning. You know, one time we had a hill bombed, for 12 hours. When it was all over, I walked up. We didn't find one of 'em, not one stinkin' dink body. The smell, you know that gasoline smell, the whole hill. Smelled like... victory. Someday this war's gonna end... "

That last part is a bit of (see significant) a stretch.Jigsaw wrote:

Erm, because... the classic map pack for 0.9 has been released...?NyteMyre wrote:yeah, servers who run the classic mappack are real popular![]()
It is up to players to make the servers popular (when they are up and the mappack has been released), nothing else that the development team can really do except give the opportunity and allow the community to use that as they wish.
Examples?Fess|3-5| wrote:That last part is a bit of (see significant) a stretch.
Can't really see how maps like Sunset City, Road to Kyongan 'Ni, EJOD Desert and Seven Gates were any better designed or more detailed (or even just equal) to new maps like Silent Eagle, Lashkar Valley, Iron Ridge or Siege at Ochamchira.

I'd love to see reworked versions of some of the old PR maps like EJOD, but they'd need to be at least 2k etc
