Oil Rigs (a la DC)
One of the most kickass maps back in Desert Combat days was Oil Rigs. Basically, Terrorists control an Oil Rig (or it could be a large freighter or tanker or some such) and BLUFOR (US, IDF, who knows) get a carrier with helicopters, and have to storm it. It had multiple levels and sections and overall was a nice infantry map (except of course the helicopters) and led to some nice fights.
What're the chances of seeing something like this for PR?

Sounds like a great close action map, certainly appeals to me

Somebody make some oil rig statics and I'll make a map for them. BF2:MC for xbox also has a great oil rig map, Black Gold.

Yuck.
I stopped reading when OP mentionned ''Terrorists'' for Opfor.

But Militia would be pretty badass. An oil rig in the Caspian or something?
Or even a Russian held one which the Norwegians have to acquire.

If anyone actually decides to make an oilrig, let me know
Norwegian Forces could really need one

Re: Oil Rigs (a la DC)
do you guys have any idea how much effort it would take to create an oilrig static?
Its simply not worth it,we dont have any factions to realisticly battle it out anyway

Re: Oil Rigs (a la DC)
It could be made appropriate for PR if there were actually oil rig statics to use, it's not that far fetched considering the cargo ship map being made.
PR has no storyline with generic factions as well so you don't need to get too technical in terms of who is defending the rigs and why.
Desert Combat did not have 'Terrorists', why the OP said that I don't know (maybe confused with CS) but Desert Combat is loosely based on the first Gulf War. The two sides are simply 'Coalition' and 'Iraq'.
The map Oil Rigs involved helicopter assaults from a nearby carrier and a mix of close and long range infantry combat. The close combat occurred inside the rigs and around the capture points, whereas the long range combat occurred on the outside as you could shoot at people on the opposite rig.
Just one of the rigs was far larger than any MW2 map BTW.
