Re: Oil Rigs (a la DC)
Honestly I think the game could use a game mode like this. Maybe not SF but some commandos. Possible some more assets available but not uber cool leet weapons.
I also would like a game mode like this because you have to think differently than you would on the normal large levels.

Yeah it's best you do that if you're just going to say stuff like "no one cares" and "the ****** award goes to".Portable.Cougar wrote:I remember now why I avoid these forums like the plague

Man I kinda miss DC, it was so sharp for bf42 engine... I remember those fights on Oil Rig... Using the forklift to advance on the catwalk separating the 2 wells, until RPGs destroy it.. lol

I've never played JO or MW2 or BC or whatever. But if so many games do something similar then it must be fun to play on.
And I said terrorists because I really cba to splerg out every chance I get going into mundane and irrelevant detail about who, what, why, where, how and when something or someone decides to do anything.
And small close quarters maps without tanks and APCs and A-10's and Apaches can be fun and "realistic" too. Not everything is about blowing up city blocks through greyscale camera images from 2 kilometers away.

No need to 'splerg out' details, just had to say 'Iraq/Opfor/Opposition' instead of 'Terrorists'.Doedel wrote:I said terrorists because I really cba to splerg out every chance I get going into mundane and irrelevant detail about who, what, why, where, how and when something or someone decides to do anything.
Otherwise it seems like you're either confused with Counter-Strike or implying Iraqi soldiers are terrorists.

Those games focuses on "special ops" units.. like delta force, seals.. SAS... Project reality focuses on the core of the Army... not special ops.. If you want something like that, go play all the other lame games out there that offer it, PR is special because it does what other games dont...
No modern army would assault an oil rig.. they would either JDAM it or just ignore it.. if a terror cell captured it, the Regular Army wouldnt bother, it would be a Special Forces assignment..

Re: Oil Rigs (a la DC)
Threads lock but I will let you know what I think.
A level like this would be cool and tell you the truth if you can get someone to build a quality map its very much might be something we want. It unfortunately cant be played like a normal PR map because of the land based necessity of the PR code. Hell even my Ely map is going to have issues and that;s has cargoship.
But who cae what the haters think.....make it and see.
