Fixed Stance ( Non scoped )

Post by Redamare »

So my idea is Mainly for PRSP but it also pertains to Normal PR.

To get started while playing PRSP while the bots walk around and start shooting at you .. their guns are Down at their side .. then Al of asuden it pops up and shoots you then goes right back down to their side.

It would make more sense for any player model to have the stance as such...

if you are in a combat situation and you dont have time to Scope in ( close quarters )
your gun is at your side while you walk when you shoot your gun pops up like normal but after you shoot .. in 3rd person ( what every one else sees) your gun stays up in a raedy position for about a second... to simulate that you are aware that something may happen instead of poping your gun up and down ( Up shoot down... up shoot down ).. its un realisitc.. people can do it but if it was me ... i would hav my gun ready to shoot.

Example in this small Picture

Image

The LEFT shows what is Currently in PR. which ... doesnt make sense .. and to the Right it shows how it should be ... so after you are done shooting after a second or so yor gun drops like normal.

**( REMEMBER THIS IS NOT FOR SCOPED STANCE, UNSCOPED ONLY)**

Give your ideas on the topic
its just a small tweak that would look alot better in close combat situations ( especialy with Bots ) but in normal gameplay too

Give us more than two minutes to respond please...

Anyways, I'm not positive, but I believe Chuc said this wasn't possible due to the animations of raising and lowering the weapon having the same amount of draw time. Meaning, you can't raise your weapon instantly and then lower your weapon after firing when a few seconds have passed.

You'll have to confirm with him though.

This has been discussed before, I believe chuc said something about limitations but don't quote me on that.

Wait a minute, though. I don't know how exactly, but Mosquill made it so that weapons could have two draw animations, right? It probably won't help in this case, but maybe something he found out could be useful here.

And why can't we make a 1 second draw/undraw animation? I know it would look weird, but if you were moving with your gun pointed down you wouldn't - instantly - aim forward and shoot. Rather take like half a second to deploy? And after that you stay 1 second with your weapon on ready (no draw time? instant fire?)

I don't know how it would work on gameplay though... I mean...

Guys, when a new player comes, just answer his question and go on your merry way, instead of going berserk! It's THAT simple! :D

I see no problem with the way it is. Not meaning to be a 'buzzkillington', but its just Singleplayer. In my view, bots can be as retarded as they want as long as they provide good gameplay and targets. But yeah, if this was workable, that would be cool.

To work, that would require removing the ability to fire your weapon before you ready it. So first you'd have to raise your weapon, then you could fire. Trying to fire before raising your weapon would do nothing. No more lucky luke tactics.

Honestly... I'm not against it.
But considering both HAT and LAT kits can be fired without even aiming, my hard-coding sense is tingling.
