Really quick pr install question

Post by artwie »

Is it safe to delete the earlier versions of PR without windows somehow messing up my 0.9 install? In my case the 0856 core, 0856 levels and the 0874 patch? also maybe Operation Snowstorm

Also requesting for this thread to be deleted after the answer is given

Yes, im pretty sure. At worst u take the Paperbasket thing, you know you can make files "live" again.

1.Delete 0.856 core and levels etc.
2.Go into Pr.0.909 and see if it works.
3.If it does, delete 0.865 from "paperbasket". If it dont, "revive" the files.

yes, it is safe, as pr 0.9 was a download of around 3 gigs, it is a new version, if there is a new patch like 0.917 you leave the original version

i take my question in here aswell.

Can you "disarm" IEDs and Mines with the wrench? Or is it any other way to disarm them?

No you can't uninstall those if I recall correctly. It will delete the mods/pr folder. The size shown is the size of the entire BF2 folder, so including vBF2, other mods, the BF2 editor, etc.

i know it wasnt related, but tt just sounded so fucking funny readin those 2 posts ^^

on adetters question: you cant disarm nade traps or ieds, with ieds it would be a bit useless implementing since it is triggered by a person who could either just blow you up or cant blow it up anymore since he is like dead...

If you uninstall those previous versions, it will delete version information from the registry, meaning if you go to install a future patch requiring a specific version, it will fail and not let you install it. If you really want to clean up your list, you will have to reinstall PR. It really doesn't matter if that stuff is in the list, it's not using any space on your hard drive contrary to what it says.
