Kashan OVERplayed

Post by Skull »

hi there,

its just a personal opinion, but i think kashan is played way too often. like 1 out of 5 maps i play. im quite a bit sick of it ;) and some friends of mine think the same. is that only us or should there be a rethinking about playing that map so often?

Great map, no Silent Eagle but still good.

Depends what server you go to if its being overplayed.

I haven't played kashan in weeks. Love that map. I miss the kashan 24/7 chicago server.

I don't see kashan very often, but I generally play on the same servers, perhaps you should play on servers that don't tend to play kashan

I rarely see servers running Kashan AAS.

At least, ones that have large numbers of players in them.

I've played it twice since 0.9 came out. Muttrah is overplayed to death.

I haven't played it once since .9 came out. The only maps I've really played are Jabal, Muttrah, Fallujah, Silent Eagle, Battle for Qinling, and Yamalia, typically because I join the same server at the same time of day.

Weird, I hate Kashan... Everyone loves it, it seems...
tbh, the map could get an update, everything on that map seems ugly to me.

I LOVE Kashan, its the only map where you can get heavy armor battle... Kashan and Silent Eagle are my favorite map =D heavy armor, heavy air support, heavy battle =D

True that Kashan is a popular map because it is good. But also there is something that bothers me about it. Its tactics and the play route is SOOO solid and already determined. Last night I figured that although I played it tens of times half of the map I did not even step once.

I think Kashan is an okay map, but the rounds always seem to linger on forever. If more people focused on infantry instead of tanks and helicopters, maybe they would capture objectives faster, eventually ending the game so the maps rotate as fast as the others. The only problem is that no one wants to be infantry, because they always get wiped out far too easily (and without transport, it's a lot of walking.) In fact, about everything on Kashan gets knocked out easily, unless there are some serious veterans operating the vehicles.

I haven't explored around with the singleplayer a whole lot, but is there a skirmish mode for Kashan? A light vehicle and infantry map near the North and South Bunker(s) would sound pretty cool, in my opinion. Then, maybe people would see more than one side to Kashan when they deployed to a multiplayer game.

Kashan? Overplayed? HAH, I swear I have to BEG the people to play Kashan. It's a really good map. I love mass conventional Warfare maps. It brings it a lot of teamwork between Air support, Armor and Infantry.

I think Muttrah is the king of the overplayed PR map.

Guess that's a credit to Rhino.

Kashan certainly ranks however.

Wish there could be more statics and areas for infantry fighting in sections of the map. Would be nice to see South outpost and the surrounding roads leading up the oil fields as a more sprawling developed industrial area and surrounding civilian town. The whole SE quadrant of the map is kind of devoid of excitement.

I'd certainly like to see the villages expanded at the least, the map needs to be more infantry friendly in the cap areas outside of the bunkers. Currently you can hold in a village as infantry with only luck if the enemy has competent crewman or (especially) pilots.

Kashan does however show just how devastating infantry can be in good hands and good terrain, I'd just like a little more of it.

Some of the most intense firefights ive ever been in were on kashan. Idc if its even a little overplayed (which its not) its a great map that provides a great combined arms experience.
if you miss him... try, try again

Personally, Kashan is the only map in the mod that in itself tempts me to leave the server. A slab of inherently boring desert, way too long rounds and teamplay that's usually limited to one or both sides wasting their assets in the first 30 minutes and then jumping around the main waiting for new ones.

As for the abundance of armor and aircraft, they're both so radically limited by the engine I'd scarcely consider a large amount of them a plus on any map.
