In Vietnam There were alot of Reporters (Mainly american) Out on the Field
I Would Think They would Kinda Be Like Civi Collab's
I dunno I think they ould Work Like The Civi's as i mentioned However Most Had A Gun
Well I don't think the VC would of had much of a problem with shooting a western reporter.
But perhaps capturing one gains brief intel on enemy troop movements? (Not exactly schooled in anti-torture, and has been in the american/aussie bases, and been moving around with the troops). So enemy units within x-range of capture location show up for a short while as if under a vanilla BF2 UAV?
But then what benefit do the western forces gain from having a reporter? Willingness to take along a reporter with the unit creates a PR bonus for the side perhaps... but then what benefit will this give the americans/aussies?
you could have like a thing were if they get caught they can be taken back to their base and get info on US movements, and the US have to get them back.
The way I see it and from facts from Vietnam he was just a grunt with a camera so I guess his camera has a feed that the commander can watch and switch between different reporters etc etc
What other purpose does the reporter have, besides getting shot? Right, nothing. The video feed is a nice idea, but not really possible in the way you describe it.
PR is about "regular" forces; there will be no elite, special, handicapped or adhd forces. That includes reporters (not sure what category they fall under though...... ).
Nice enough idea but reporters mostly follow troops around and WRITE about their progress for the press. They don't charge along with an assault camera rolling.
