Well, the Title explains pretty much everything.
I got a new PC, running Windows 7 64bit Professional on a 128GB SSD but it doesnt recognize the 500GB HDD. The instructions on the HDD say i dont need jumpers and i tried switching the SATA port aswell, with no result.

Does your PC come with multiple SATA controllers, if you supply motherboard info we can give you more accurate answers, but try running your secondary 500GB SATA HD on a different controller than your primary SSD.
You might want to check the BIOS that the other SATA controller isn't disabled.
Just because you switch SATA port, might mean you are still on the same controller.
