Dont forget running as administrator. Also dont forget that you can install the game as administrator. That also works wonders.

If none of those work your computer is not good enough. Either buy a new one or ditch the game.

Sounds like somebody patched to vBF2 1.50 before patching to vBF2 1.41

change your shortcut properties to have +fullscreen 0 so that when the game crashes it will present an error. Then screenshot & paste or just type up the error in this thread, and we can help you with the problem.

I had this problem on 64 bit Vista. You need to either run pbsvc.exe (which allows punkbuster to run without admin permission) or the pbsetup(which updates punkbuster). The problem I was able to track down is that punkbuster is not updating properly after the 1.5 patch. When installed BF2 I needed to run both, but my roommate running 64 bit 7 only needed to run pbsetup.

pbsvc.exe

pbsetup.

This sounds similar to what happened to me when I first bought the game without a proper graphics card.

I was getting this exact same error(Well the value was 1600x1200@60hz, still the same though)

What I did to fix this problem was:
There should be the following file in My Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles\Default in this called Video.con, rename it to _Video.con then run PR.

Enjoy

Edit:You will need to reset your video settings when you run PR but who cares? You're able to play PR again right?
