PR developed
I'm not the right person to ask this. This should be posted by someone from the DEVteam, but i haven't seen this kind of thread. I've noticed that most member of the forums are old players who have played since 0.5 or something like that. My question is:
How do you think PR has developed since the first versions and is there something you would like to revive (other than maps)?

Why is this even a question? Look at the HUGE ENORMOUS pile of new stuff thats there. There is no way it couldn't have developed.

I found this sentence quite funny and since this is a war game forum I will put it here. No offense to the french just a good laugh.

Re: PR developed
Guys at least answer his question:
There used to be a mode like this but it was removed I presume because the player base couldn't handle the high level of coordination. If this isn't created again for the general public it would be nice to at least see it for server hosts to enable at their own discretion for events...
You can see most of the history in the thread linked above but as far as your second question goes I would like to see the return of time based defend maps where you try and defend an objective for a certain period of time and if you do succesfully you're team receives heavy assets that are on a long spawn clock with spawndelayatstart enabled.How do you think PR has developed since the first versions and is there something you would like to revive (other than maps)?

The game is now not about realism for the player, but more for realism for the spectator. Watching things in 3p looks awesome until you get into 1p and find out how frustrating it is. That's been the main change for me.

Re: PR developed
Ive been playing since .4, and I feel its both changed in many good ways and a few not so good ways.
On the plus side, the loadouts for all the factions are more realistic than ever. back in .4,.5 we didnt have scoped rifles, and PR was still using alot of vanilla stuff. Now, almost everything that Dice has done that really needed improvement has been replaced with much better looking and more realistic stuff {just look at the new m16a4s versus the vanilla m16s}
However there was something about the early versions, .5 in particular, that almost seemed as if you were in a very exclusive club of people who knew about the mod and we hadnt really hit that influx of noobtards that the later versions brought. Its like, if you were playing in the .5 days, its because you really wanted to play and play in the spirit that PR intended. It seemed to me like there was a higher degree of teamwork and cooperation. I could just be jaded from all the bad experiences ive had with all the noobs that got into PR since like .7 and I do realize that this is in no way the fault of the DEVs. But with every release that has come out ive noticed ive played less and less marathon 2-3 hour sessions of PR and it is mainly because I have a hard time finding a good squad/team than I used to. I still love the current PR though, and I hope it stays alive for a long time to come.

When I started the only change was 'removed hit indicator' and some other stuff I can't remember. So it has definatly changed alot.

I wasn't an active player before 0.9 but i have played 0.5 and can't say there is anything gone worse. Some old maps would be great to have back and SAW doesn't need scope.

When you request for an AR, right click the request button. Don't spawn as a AR though or you'll have to wait.Winstonkalkaros wrote:Unscoped version, how do I get that?

Some of the most fun I've ever had in PR was on Al Basrah in 0.5 as a US marine with a M203, or in a A-10. Or some random fraggy gameplay on "Street". I must admit that I sometimes miss it... but that was a totally different game from what it is now, so the two cannot be compared imo. I love both for their forces.
