Active stat tracking?

Post by Imchicken1 »

I didnt see this on the already suggested posts so here it goes

I play alot of first person shooters, but Project reality has to be one of the best. The reason i dont play it to much is because there's nothing to brag about. I can't go up to my friend and say "Haha, my KDR is .01 better than yours." :firing:

I think there should be active stat tracking brought into the game. I'm sure people would agree with me.

The lack of active stat tracking, leaderboards, whatever. Is one of the main reasons i love this game. Leaderboards and bragging about your KDR is for CoD, not PR.

We dont need people to make the game about the stats, its about the gameplay

That's exactly the opposite of what Project Reality is trying to achieve.

"Haha, my KDR is .01 better"

Scores should matter, I never look at it, and I know a lot of other people don't. We don't need bragging, that's not the point.

The mod has been in the making/out for 6 years now you should guess why something like this isnt in.

I found this sentence quite funny and since this is a war game forum I will put it here. No offense to the french just a good laugh.
"Going to war without France is like going deer hunting without an accordion. All you do is leave behind a lot of noisy baggage."

I dont really see how external stats tracking is so bad, as long as you dont have ingame ranks.

Perhaps a link to BF2S.com? But I agree - while this could be cool........... it is the opposite of Project Reality.

ORRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR I'd like to see ranks in-game - but not like vBF2 where everyone is a 7 star General blah blah, perhaps slower - just so people KNOW you KNOW to play the game, not something to brag about.

Perhaps a link to the forum's rank? :) Rhino, Gaz, gazzthompson, Brummy and Rudd would lead everyone - friendlies and, because their rank is so high, the enemies as well - some people are THAT influencing.
Guys, when a new player comes, just answer his question and go on your merry way, instead of going berserk! It's THAT simple! :D

Thats more what i meant. External rankings, but not a rank system like "pvt, corpral, sgt, general." More like leaderboards to show that you DO know how to play the game, and you can access them if you want

if there is some stat tracking it only should track teamwork points.
for me,bring ranks, stats, everything if its improving teamwork.
but if its gonna lead lonewolf to try get some nice kills,no.

maybe monthly reset points and put in forum annoucment.. top 20 teamwork players of month are!!
1.sniperdude
2.lonelysniper
3.xboomheadshotx
4.specopsninja98
5rambo&commando
etc....
every noob wanna be on that list of honour and every noob start to play as a team.

Ye it would be cool if it just showed teamwork dont put kills or death or anything and no leaderboard just put in tw score would be good

Maybe a page, where it would show how much you spent with kits/vehicles wouldnt hitr... but without points, plain info about time.

So the page should be monitored by admins, who would judge the effectiveness of the individuals and would assign different ranks wich would be put into the game...

Hard stuff but at least useful to some point...

In ye olde days, some PR servers used the ABR (Alternative Battlefield Ranking)

However, that is long gone and not coming back.

I would suggest a ranking system that is not based on game stats but on things you did outside the game.

To be a Private you would have to register your battlefield account to your forum account.
(You join a specific PR server with a special 6-digit code as your prefix.)

The next ranks up to Sergeant would be given by accomplishing some different multiple choice tests.

Upper ranks would depend on your usergroup in the forum.
