The reload time is fine as it is. If anything they should increase the respawn time, aircraft like the huey spawn too fast on certain maps IMO

No, I think the opposite would work better. Make the spawn times shorter, maybe 50% less and make the reload times a lot longer, maybe 300% more. This will simulate the time it takes a ground crew to actually fully refit an aircraft, including fuel and munitions. The faster spawn will indicate that there are more than 1 aircraft on the battlefield and there are constant reinforcements coming. It's not like the whole USA has only 1 F16 and it takes 20 minutes to get reinforcements.

Quick question: Has anyone personally been in an attack helicopter being rearmed and refueled at a FARP, or have read/cited the approximate time of a tactical reload from actual maintenace or piloting crew?

Sauces please.

PinkFloyd- wrote:CAS takes 20 minutes to spawn anyway, so with this you may as well crash it and be flying again before the apache is reloaded to "real" standards.

CAS is useless enough as it is.
Kashan 64, Chrisweb as pilot... 40+ kills. Cap out.

Silent Eagle 64, Super Cobra as pilot. US annihilation.

Cas is only as good as the people on the ground are at finding and conveying targets. I suggest you use mumble SQL channels to communicate properly.

Rampo had a good point:

Does anyone know if this is allready suggested and/or rejected by the DEV's?

Since so many of the realistic powers of CAS can't be done in BF2, I feel its uncessary to increase the time the choppers spend at base.

Weak armour, few flares, hard to use targetting system (unless there is ground assistance) etc, no point in adding another frustration :)

Relatively, the time it takes to reload is absolutely fine, seeing the position of CAS in PR.

An apache attack helicopter can be fully rearmed in 15 minutes.
