so,if possible(again)would dod be like this:

i take examble from archer,canadian base.
now if taliban enters in dod he looses energy and dies very fast.
is there possibilities to make this way that when taliban enters dod area he becomes visible in maps/radars of blufor?
so he doesnt die...
maybe actual death zone would be just maybe 50 meters(just prevent baserape) or something but this second area would be larger.


this would also lead maybe some interesting gameplay thing.
just get one man to the zone that he becoms visible,set ambush and wait humwee to come to check the area.

but mainidea is:
actual dod maybe 50m.
second area maybe 150m.
(im not sure about those meters)

this would simulate that there is guards and intel moving on troops that is there enemy hostiles near mainbase.
if i recall correctly in bf2 vanilla there was that thing(uav scan?) what showed enemy troops in map/radar.
maybe use that somehow.

that is interesting, if you change the scan icon to something less exact and less specific than the vbf2 ones you might be on to something interesting, though I doubt it'll ever mean the DoD can be decreased that far.

I was playing as Taliwackers on Archer, I Cudnt get near the road west of Blufor mainbase, i usually hide there with my RKG's. Something else i will miss :(

that is a good idea maybe also have text that says enemy close to base!

This idea is both good for insurgents and blufor: possible base rape and a free radar!

Actually this isn't a bad idea. You could just make the BF2 scan icons be massive and transparent-faint-ish so that you can't get a pinpoint location on someone, and only have the scan run every sixty seconds or something like that.

that would be good.in archer this would be good cos dome is so big.i cant remember how big are domes in other maps.with this suggestion you have option to go near enemybase but its dangerous cos you are visible in map.

LOL, Judging by the way we used to Green zone jihad that FOB on Archer, You are nevar, nevaaar, going to get any closer. lol. There was always somebody crying he got shot or took fire from the mountains... always...

The Archer DoD is HUEG. You can't get anywhere near it at all.
In fact...a lot of the DoD seem to have grown very large.
Especially on archer, this keeps the opfor from really setting up ambushes, or monitoring the enemy base. I mean....you can't even SEE into it, and the mountain by the base is often littered with enemy machine guns that pick everyone off easily, and no one can do anything about it.
Seems that every update, the INS and Tali just keep getting nerfed.

i think that with this suggestion archers big dod would be perfect.
and maybe in other insurgency map this would be just nice and bring some interesting thing to the insurgents
(insurgency in insurgent side is sometimes little booring)
just take rpg man and civi and go to the second dod area where you expose yourself to the blufor map.
rpg guy to some hill and civi to the road with hands up.
humwee comes up to check what is happening there...

CIVILIAN: "please americans help me,my family is killed and im sad"
GOODGUYS: "naah,just one stupid civilian running here,lets arrest him"
RPGGUY: "say hello to my little rpg"
bang!

or humveedudes can ignore that and not chechk who is running there.
but maybe there is bunch in insurgents mining the road and set ambushes.

no text.you have to check your map constantly that what is going on on map.

I support DoD. It protects reality. You can't or never attempt to go near a well protected military base normally. Lets remove DoD but also change re-spawn time to 5 min. if you die near un-cap base. Then lets see if anyone going or not.

It is impossible to have the DOD make icons appear, this would only work if you had the uav radar and added it to an object placed in the base that is invisible, add the radar code but make the radar not appear on the minimap and have it still make objects show up, place them so it covers the dod area, then remove the Dod.

hmm,what is blastradius of the gary?
and is dod same thing that out of bounds area?

just wondering that maybe that actual dod should be insta-dead area.(preventing gary to drive at main)
but if out of bounds and DOD is same thing,then its not working

and maybe these mainbases what are ingame its not that mainbase what you think.maybe that actual MAINBASE is far away somewhere.
for me,mining the archers roads was the funfactor and its part of defending the caches.
and i like distrupt and cause annoyances to the blufor.
blufors humvees should check all the time what is on road and with this suggestion they can easyli see from map that there is something going on.

point is in this suggest is that i would like to have OPTION to do thing like mining the mainroad but it would be very dangerous...
