When looking for answers please follow these simple steps.
#1 : Read the red stickys First.
New PR problems are rare so most answers can be found here.
#2. Use the search feature on PRs web site or GOOGLE IT!.
Often the quickest way to find what your looking for when you have an error message.
#3. Please remember to include your basic PC info in your post
You have spent some time trying to help yourself without any luck, so your ready to ask for help:
Please include your basic PC info in your post :
Operating system = XP, Vista etc.
systems specks = cpu/speed, ram installed, video card/video ram on card, type of monitor
network setup = cable, 4 port 10/100/1000 d- link gamers lounge/ wired connection.
And a brief history before and after problem started.
Please describe when your CTD or problem hits and
what you have already tried.
The more info you can give the better your chance of getting a quick answer back.
You don't have to write a book,
but your basic PC info is needed to help you.
Good luck
The most common causes of CTD are:
Lack of FULL update 1.41
Followed by
Final v1.5
Incomplete install of PR:
pr_0917_full_part1of2_setup.exe
And
pr_0917_full_part2of2_setup.exe
Compatibility mode to xp and run as admin not set in desktop shortcut on Vista PCs
Running game below 1024x768 resolution.
Good luck

Re: problem v.90 v.91 startup
I did read a lot but still got no solution.
I got a pentium 4 running on 4Ghz, 2Ghz memory and a 320Gb segate hd and a ati 1950 pro whit 512MB memmory.
I got a fast internet connection.
I got windows xp prof running.
I had PR0.8 running and that worked fine.
I formated my pc, i installed windows prof instead of home version.
The rest of my pc is still the same.
I installed the latest driver for my ati 1950pro from the ams/ati site.
Ans installed all the updates for my windows.
I removed all bf2 from my c drive, program files map and my ducuments.
I did a reboot and installed bf2 fresh.
I now am downloading the links you gave me.
Hopely the problem whas that i thit got a 1.41 update and not the full version.
I will now when installing tommorrow.

Must i see them in my software map in windows?
Or do the stay hidden?

Re: problem v.90 v.91 startup
They stay hidden. You will only see the PR install or patch.
Remember to run BF2 once after reinstalling it and running the updates ( 1.41 and 1.5) You should relink to your online EA account then install PR.
If you still have trouble run battlefield cleaner to flush out your video cache files
Still no joy?
Trash your BF2 cache files
Path:
C:\Users\'your user name here'\Documents\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\cache
Throw EVERYTHING inside the folder named cache away.
don't worry the files will be replaced with new ones when the game restarts.
Still CTD?
OK
Some other things you can try before you uninstall/reinstall.
Backup your BF2 folder that's inside your documents folder. Once you have a backup delete the original from your documents folder.
Try starting PR from your PR shortcut
a new default folder is created
link to your online account.
If all goes well (CTD gone) all you have to do to get your custom settings back is copy your 'control' file from your backup to the new profile folder.
path:
C:\Users\your user name here\Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles\0002
note: you may not have a 0002 folder so use 0001
Good luck

You posted:

Explain please.
When you trash your BF2 cache files...
Path:
C:\Users\'your user name here'\Documents\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\cache
You throw EVERYTHING inside the folder named cache away.
Don't worry the files will be replaced with new ones when the game restarts.
Also
Did you start up BF2 at least once after you updated it with 1.41 and 1.5 BEFORE you installed PR part 1 and part 2?

Did you delete your BF2 as per the instructions below?
Backup your BF2 folder that's inside your documents folder. Once you have a backup delete the original from your documents folder.
Try starting PR from your PR shortcut
a new default folder is created
link to your online account.
If all goes well (CTD gone) all you have to do to get your custom settings back is copy your 'control' file from your backup to the new profile folder.
path:

note: you may not have a 0002 folder so use 0001
Are you sure your firewall isn't blocking you when you try to connect?
Good luck
