no, seeing as how the 6 core has no bigger performance value compared to the 955. Most modern games dont use a lot of cores

Looks good.

But what is your budget just out of curiosity?

Also are you upgrading or building a totally new system?

Make sure you get a 64 bit OS since you have 4gb+ of ram.

Also, since the processor you picked is black edition as far as I could see... if you plan on overclocking in the future I would highly suggest you invest in a better cooling system now.

What power supply are you planning on purchasing also?

Are you using the case from your current computer? If not please link to the new one.

6 core only 200 USD and you will have one of the best processors out their. You'll be able to play any game in next few years on all high. And its only 20-30 more dollars than the 955. Its a no brainer to me.

The 6 core has turbo cache. Meaning if its not using all 6 cores it boost performance on 3 to like 3.4. Its a lot better than that 955.

I'd get an X6 as well over 955/965.The silicon is improved - runs cooler and over clocks
much higher, plus turbo core is a big plus for games like PR (not cpu intensive)

i see, i'll have to do some research into the phenom ii x6's. I have around 2 months until I order the parts so, i should have a decision by then.
