Foregrip with the bipod undeployed - I've only managed to find a couple of shots with the bipod out, that pack gaz posted a page back has some good shots of it.
Sorry for some of the fuzzyness, I'd just finished my 2nd 12 miler speed tab in 2 days :( That's MY rifle lol, took em on Sunday. By the way, that video shows an L85A1, not the A2 that's been in service since late 2002.

If you want other refs of specific parts, let me know. I'm deploying in a month, so am up to my eyes with sorting my life out atm.

fantastic job, can't wait to see the finished product.

one very minor query - the bolt release and fire selector seem to have vanished?

more progress and eye candy, all the part are unwrapped and *reasonably* stretch-free - I dumped them all on a 1024x1024 map and baked AO into it as a test. Going to go back, reorganise all the pieces and tweak them to get rid of the bits which are stretched/optimise them for a 1p view.

Hey Penguin, just to give you a heads up, we are most likely going to use the RIS, Spectre sight and grip-pod portions of your model for integration into PR's L85A2s. You're free to continue working as it is, but when you're done we need those sections on their own UV sheet.

No problem, I'll double the width and organise them onto the right side of the map so it's easy to separate :D

dude, really apologize for annoyance but I didn't noticed before the uvs, the dents in the rails are very odd.
I mean each sections has different spacing, and each piece vary in width, I’m almost sure it isn’t the way it were meant to be.

That's fixed now, I just hadn't got round to hand editing each UV bit to get it to the right size - The modeled grooves are the correct size though so all is good.

UVs are now on a 2048x1024 sheet, the scope, rail and foregrip are on the right side, everything else on the left. Right side is all nice and compact and fits well with good spacing, left side is not so good at the moment since there's a lot of unused space I need to fill. UV sizes are weighted a bit so there's a greater concentration towards the viewer+ on the complex bits which will have normal mapping. I've also removed more of the mild stretching so it's more consistent.

I made a lot of the changes, cheek piece squashed down a bit, cocking handle made taller and slightly bigger, and the spacing was reduced a bit. Safety is also there, but was just hidden in the previous screenshot because of the RIS. I also made the new flash suppressor but I could only find a couple of fairly small references so I doubt it's accurate (it does look mighty cool though B) ) - I left the picatinny rail on for the moment since the picture on - ELCAN Sighting Systems - shows it with one, and it's pretty much the only reference I have to go on xD - although looking at it now the rail needs to be a bit taller.

Rearranged the UV too, so there's much less wasted space on the left side.

Why doest your rendering look so pixely, like you edited it in photoshop or did some wierd quick edit with Magic Tool?

But from a far, the model still looks awesome. I hope to see it in PR

because it is a real time grab from his modeling environment with an AO map applied.
