Transport A/C
What would you guys think if there would be something like a transport aircraft in pr like the c160 transall or c130 hercules...
it could be to drop crates, humvees or paratroopers (canadians, us, russians)...
or like in other games - but that would be rather imbalanced - as cannon ship... i mean if the pilot can fly steepturns at the same altitude with steady attitude, speed and steady rate of turn and the gunner doesnt friendlyfire it could be kinda realistic (but this is an offset idea)
the main thought of it is as transport for packs of supplycrates, rep station, infantry or small vehicles... that would make sense
especially in maps where there is only helicopters up and no fighter-jets, cause it would be rather senseless and a waste of assets and no match for a fighter to take down a transport a/c...
sorry if this is the wrong forum, but i dont have 25 threads yet to post under "suggestions" but you may move it there

Both of those have already been suggested in suggestions, and, forgive the expression "shot down" for a number of gameplay related reasons.
And when I first saw this thread, I thought you meant Air conditioning, which is definitely called for in the BTR.

Re: Transport A/C
pitty, maybe its possible to implement in pr2... if you had a none-combat zone further out, where commander, airfield, base, repairs etc is you could do that in really large maps...
hmkay, i was used to call it a/c but ill spell it out next time
canadians, russians and us already have parachutes in some maps but it would be quite interesting to have the transport aircraft as spawnable base - if it is up... in the most map where paratroops are available-its just a spot flying in a circle.
this would defenitely bring a huge jump in tactical gamespeed (which would be exactly what paratroopers are for, quick transport behind enemy lines and preparing the spot for the rest). if you keep the spawn at the airplane to a certain amount of ticks and if youve used them up you have to land again or smth...

The maps aren't that big for the need of transport/logistics planes, even small ones. All can be handled by the choppers. If we had bigger maps, yes, of course.

Re: Transport A/C
The post count barrier is there for a reason, do you really think a transport aicrafts like c130 is used on the small fields we have? A c130 would never be sent out like that anyway.
Besides its a resuggestion.
Welcome to the forums though remember to search before you suggest, for believe me every I want to see xxxxx aircraft/gun/vehicle is either suggested or is so rare that its only used by no one and will 90% of the time be just another experiment of a private firm.
EDIT: Ninjaed
Remember though if there is something that is used regularly by normal armed troops its already in the making or being discussed.

I found this sentence quite funny and since this is a war game forum I will put it here. No offense to the french just a good laugh.
"Going to war without France is like going deer hunting without an accordion. All you do is leave behind a lot of noisy baggage."

yes, especially c160 have good short field attributes, thats what they were constructed for... and as turbo props they have a good field lenght limited take off performance...
