There's been many changes to where players can request kits and the current system is somewhat workable but could easily be modified to a mic of past versions to remove some silly situations like a player just needing a single crate to request any kit and have free ammo anywhere one can be dropped.
Pilot and crewman kits should still be available from their respective vehicles.
Remove the ability to request a kit from a crate.
All kit requests would be available from vehicle depots, APCs and Firebases/Hideouts (for Hamas and Taliban) that are built and have not collapsed.
Iraqi Insurgent hideouts and vehicle depots allow for the request of civilian or Squad Leader kits only.
This would still allow for a wide variety of kits but remove the silly single crate in the middle of nowhere that allows for specialized equipment to be requested. It would also mean that crates left on Insurgency that are difficult to remove due to lack of incendiaries would only be half as useful since a Firebase would need to be built.

Re: Kit request locations - kind of a reversion
I agree somewhat. I believe the Taliban are the only factions that can REQUEST kits. (not insurgents) Personally, requesting from a weapon cache actually makes sense for the taliban because thats where they would get ammunition and guns normally. The idea of getting them from a FOB/ APC and depot is a relatively good one. The only problem with that, would be kit spam at main base. I.E all normal kits laying there. Another problem which would actually make it realistic would be the loss of an apc coming to you, so you can get a kit. It's a bit of a hassle for the apc squad to be running around just so people can get kits.

I may agree removing kit request from single crates. That will prevent the excess waste of limited kits.

Ok, why don't we do like this: For conventional armies, you can...
1. Request "special" kits from vehicle depot/main base.
2. Request "infantry" kits from APCs, Vehicle Depots/main base and perhaps from FOBs (NOT CRATES).
3. Request Officer, medic and normal riflemen kits (NOT LIMITED ONES, the spawnable normal ones - with the ammo. NO Riflemen Specialist though for rope fest!")
I think that's about it. Would end with exploits like being in the middle of nowhere, with a crate, and getting an AT4 to take a techie coming for you -- already happened in-game.

I like this idea, although it would be somewhat of a hassel for APC's. Although there would most likely be random FOB building across the map just so people can get that kit they really want.
