good antivirus program?

Post by Gore »

im running bullguard now but i cant play pr with it, even if i turn it off it'll lag. and i cant keep installing and uninstalling every time i wanna play pr. bullguard is at version 9, in previous versions you could just turn it off and the lag would be gone but that isn't the case anymore.
so do you know a good virus program that will not interfere with pr or other games?

thanks in advance.

Free: AVG
Pay: Norton or Bitdefender

AVG is well just like every free anti-virus program out there. Norton and Bitdefender both have some upsides to them that make each one different then the other. Do some research for yourself and you'll find one in your budget that does work.
Rest assured, that with a heart that's pure, we'll be victorious and not let our hate get the best of us.

I have only nice things to say about Avast. The latest version is really nice, and comes with this gaming mode that stops it from popping up asking about stuff and telling you what's been updated and what now when you run a fullscreen app.

After running the free version for a couple of years, I went for the paid version now, which comes with a firewall and some extra features, to serve as my main security setup.

I can also recommend Avast.
Been using the free version for years.
I have five computers at home with avast in all of them(Xp, Vista and 7).
Never had any problems and it seems to be doing it´s job just fine.

I gave up on Norton. You can only get killed in the middle of a game due to some stupid warning Norton pops up so many times before you toss it out the window. Got AVG internet security. Works well with all my games.

This list is from computerGeeks.com

Turn UAC on, put it to it's highest setting "Always Notify" and make it ask your password every time. Don't run programs as an admin.

There you have one good antivirus system ;)
