Alpha Project Launch - Saturday 22nd May

Post by Robbi »

We are proud to announce the start of the Alpha-Project. If you want to find out about what this event is about, check here

So what the hell is the "scenario event" then all about you might want to ask? :)

I am proud to announce the full details finally.
This scenario event is all about attack/defence focus. One Team will defend certain objectives on the map and the other team will have to attack those objectives(like the airstrip on barracuda) and capture special locations( a invisible flag with 10-15m cap radius) within the objective area. The attacking team will be informed about those locations at the rounds start by the commander. The defending team will not know which locations are marked for a capture. That means they have to ensure to defend the whole complex. The attacking team in return doesn't know about the exact location of the flag only what they have to look for. We want to add some realistic feeling and balancing with that. I can assure you, that those captureable locations are in some way realisticly vital to the area. I give you a little hint: On barracuda, since it's an isle it would be very vital to cut off the communcations, so capturing a radio would be sensible ;-)

-The defending Team has fixed Spawns on the defendable Objective, expiring when the locations at that objective are taken by the attackers.(they are not recappable)
-The common flag system is removed from the maps
-The cappable locations are not marked on the map
-setup time of 5 mins at the begin of the round for building FOB's and briefings. No fighting is allowed at this stage.
-The attacking team is not allowed to build any buildable assets other than the FOB itself.
-Artillery Strikes are not allowed on Fools Road

Maps played:

Fools Road Infantry Layer

The Hilltop Estate is the first attacked objective. Are the locations there are taken, the militia will have to fall back to the militia fortress and defend that.

Operation Barracuda Standard Layer

The Beach Fortification and the Supply Fortification are both attackable at the same time. If both Objectives are taken, the chinese forces have to fortify in the missile silo.

Win conditions on both maps:
The Defending Team wins when they successfully defend while draining all the tickets from the attacking team. The attacking team wins, when they manage to drain all the tickets from the defenders(not adviseable because very hard) or capturing all marked locations.

Sorry if I sound a bit dense, but do I need to download anything or sign up anywhere? Or can I just join the mumble + game servers on the night?
