PR Server Rainmeter Skin

Post by Sooner266 »

UPDATE: Check post #13

Hey guys, sorry if I overlooked something, but I was wondering if there was a RSS feed or something with the PR server info for someone like me to use to make a sig, or in my case, a rainmeter skin with info like current number of players, map, ping, etc.

Thanks,
Sooner266

I use Game monitor as you can see below, but I'm not sure if that helps you. Try out game-monitor anyway if you havent already.

I think this might work. I'm not subscribed so can i still get access to info like current map and ping etc? I looked through it and the only feed I found only had number of players.

I don't know how technically inclined you are - but here are some data sources that may be useful, or not:
XML: http://realitymodfiles.com/egor/currentservers.xml
JSON: http://realitymodfiles.com/egor/currentservers.jsonp

PRSPY uses this data.

GEZE!!! Has it. But you don't need to be signed up for game moniter to have a sig like mine. If you can find a way to isolate information given on the site that would be cool, if not, just go with the GEZE!!!

DOH!!! I didn't even look at the links you posted. Thought they were to tuts. This is EXACTLY what I am looking for, thank you!

And yes, I can use coding in rainmeter to identify certain servers. If anyone uses rainmeter, I will be working on this and keep updated in the rainmeter forums.

No, only those with someone in them. If the server is empty, no data.

So it doesn't include the Coop servers does it?

Oh ya, no coop servers as well. It used to show coop servers, but it was confusing as bots were in the player list, so it was removed.

Calling all users of both Rainmeter and BF2! I finished the first version of my skin and uploaded it to deviantART. Now I need feedback from actual BF2 users so I can decide if the idea is useful enough to continue working on. I am going to try to add a buddy status list and more servers in later versions.

To you guys who helped me here, thank you for your help, you got me pointed in the right direction, but I ended up not using the official server feed, and instead used Game-Monitors.com so that all servers can be shown.

Comments/constructive criticism always appreciated.
Dave

By the way, if you don't have rainmeter, you should look into it. It is really useful and makes your desktop awesome!
