stuck on splash screen

core 2 quad, 4 gb ram, gtx 260, win 7 64bit,
now to the problem, i installed bf2 from dvd popped in my cdkey and installed fine, than patched it to 1.41 and 1.5 just fine, after that the 2 pr installs and patch just fine
but when i click on pr.exe to start game i get stuck on splash screen that pops up when u turn on the game and stays there, when i click on it i can either report problem, close the program or keep it running, i tried to keep it running but there is a no go

any solutions anyone?

compability mode (xp sp3/2, win 9

But no patch is needed with the full 917 installers.

Installation timeline

1. Install BF2
-----------------
BF2:SF Expansion | --- If you have BF2:SF, here is where it should be installed.
----------------
2. Update Battlefield 2 with 1.41
3. Update Battlefield 2 with 1.5, run BF2 at least once before installing PR.
4. Install the latest PR Build (Currently: v0.917)
Project Reality v 0.917 uses TWO separate Client Installers and should be installed in this order.
First:
v0.917-part1 of 2

Followed by:
v0.917-part2 of 2
(Part 2 installer should make a desktop short cut.)
The 'patch' is only if you have PR newer than v907
If you get any errors, download a new installer from a different source and try again.

After clean install you have to start regular BF2 once and create or retrieve the account you are going to use with PR.

i uninstalled bf2 completely and cleaned all traces of it, than reinstalled bf2 and it created a shortcut file on my desktop but it wouldn't work, i tried turning it on from start menu and couldn't located bf2.exe, i went to main directory and there was no bf2.exe

You are installing to the default right? :
C:\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2

The most common causes of CTD are:
Failure to uninstall any previously installed versions of PR.
This can easily be done via the Windows Control Panel
'Add and Remove Programs' icon, under "Project Reality 0.x".*,
then delete the PR folder to remove any leftover files.
Don't forget to delete the desktop short as well.
Reboot, then start BF2 at least once before installing PR
PRv.909 uses 2 installers. You must install both 'Part 1' and 'Part 2'.

It is recommended that you restart your system after you install/uninstall programs
to ensure all installed components, files and registry entries are correctly installed or removed.

Delete the original BF2 folder from your documents folder.
Some other things you can try before you uninstall/reinstall.
Backup your BF2 folder that's inside your documents folder. Once you have a backup delete the original from your documents folder.
Try starting PR from your new PR shortcut
(a new default folder is created)
link to your online account.
If all goes well (CTD gone) all you have to do to get your custom settings back is copy your 'control' file from your backup to the new profile folder.
path:
C:\Users\your user name here\Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles\0002
note: you may not have a 0002 folder so use 0001

ok i got it to work now thnx for help every one but i got a new problem now w/ my cdkey

Chances are that you are either a hacker (not good!) or your cd key is somehow leaked to Internet (sucks to be you!) and some other hacker has contaminated it by using a hack. In both cases you probably need to get yourself a new cd key. You can try to appeal the ban at PBBans, but most likely it will not help.
