Will my new rig run PR .91 decently?
Hey I quit PR for a while and now Im coming back with teh release of 0.91, I played 0.8x and .9 and .9 lagged like a ***** with my old system. Now I built a new one out of some parts I bought. How will this system cope with PR .9x.

Your vidya card is a bit old, but i'm sure you can.
This is the wrong section though, you should have this moved to the hardware support section.

Depends on the resolution you're gonna use. I have EVGA 8800 GTS 512 with the same G92 chip as yours and Intel Core2Duo E6850 overclocked to 3.4 GHz and it's still lagging like a hell in some scenes. I think my 1920x1200 resolution with all settings high, plus some AA & AF is bit too much for the graphics card.

From my experiences, setting everything on max settings with AA a 8x, at a resolution of > 1680x1050 gives hard faults (random lag spikes/game freezes) if you do NOT have > 4GB of memory (basically, if you don't have 6 or 8 GB of ram). You can confirm this by opening your task manager and clicking on the performance tab. Check your "commit charge" at the bottom right. If it's greater than the amount of physical memory (how much ram you have), then chances are, you may experience occasional hard faults as the game is forced to page to the hard drive.
This is not always a perfect rule to go by, of course; the speed of the front-side bus, the ram, and the hard drive can sometimes compensate for the occasional hard faults, and go unnoticed by the user; however, I think they still may be occurring.
That is with Windows Vista or Windows 7 of course; Windows XP does not appear to have any issues, as it uses much less ram.

Well at high resolutions you don't need AA and if you decide to do it the difference between aa 4x and AA8x is minimal unless you have an 32 inch monitor

Everything should work on high, EXCEPT for Textures which MUST be on Medium to prevent CTD bug.

Not necessarily, because alt-tabbing to desktop and back to game fixes the lag, but does not change my resolutionJman234 wrote:That's your problem of it lagging lol.

Looks good but if you notice lag it might be a problem with the game. A lot of people are having framerate issues on certain maps like Fallujah West, Lashkar Valley, and some of the maps with the new grass (Iron Ridge?).
