Mumble not for all servers?

Post by ComradeHX »

There had been some mis-matching mumble channel names and server names...

Is there any server that does not have a mumble channel or am I simply missing the names on the list?

Yeah, there's a fair few Mumble channel names that don't fully match up with their server names which is a bit silly.

10th Community is 1 that I can think of that don't have a Mumble channel as they use their own server. I used to play there quite a lot but now I go where the Mumblers are mostly and I literally CBA to join their Mumble server.

I'd play more on TG but i hate being constantly kicked for supporting members, makes a good stable round impossible there for me...

mumble on servers is a chicken and egg problem.

Many servers had a low population of mumble users, then they petered out. Many players who play on servers that have a lot of mumble users don't bother using it on other servers where they don't know that someone else will be using it. I'll bet there's quite a few servers where 20% or more of that players use mumble on TG but don't bother there because most people aren't using it so it never catches on elsewhere.

The only way to solve it is to always use mumble on any server you are on, unless they come up with an auto-assign feature at some point (which would be rough with all of the PR servers being listed).

thats Very true ... thers only a few mumble servers that are ACTIVE .. not all servers use mumble some use TS3 or w.e ... its a shame that some people just refuse to Try mumble even though they all have it .. it is realy on the servers to promote mumble usage .. like TG and their password nights to promote usage of mumble ... to keep the non mumblers out ...

EVEN it you were on mumble and you didnt want to talk its still benificial you can hear whats going on around you.

i know that i never bother with mumble because its never worked for me. the last time i used it, i was standing the mountains as the taliban and was listening to some marines argue over a humvee. the next several times i tried to use it, there was nobody in the mumble servers, even though the game servers were heavily promoting its use. not even the clan members running the server were in mumble.

Whatever happened to the RT USA server? Every night was mumble night, it was pretty much mandatory to have mumble. Its a huge shame because I feel like players dont appreciate how useful mumble is.

RT was closed down, there is a new thing along the same lines called Alpha just getting going, with a US and EU server once they sort out the server issues.....
Once it's sorted should be good to have a euro mumble server again.

But as Smeg says, we all should switch on our mumble and join the server even if we are alone, it's not like it is resource or bandwidth heavy.

Nobody uses mumble anymore.... :(
Even Evilhomer was on a server without being on mumble.

I don't think this is a huge issue since most don't use mumble anyways.
On the subject of 'what servers use mumble?'. There would be three that come to mind.

Server name: TacticalGamer.com
Mumble name: TG - TacticalGamer

Server name: Alpha-Project EU/US (they have two servers)
Mumble name: ]A-pr[ Alpha-Project EU/US (two channels)

Server name: PhoenixProject
Mumble name: The Phoenix Project

All three seem to be geared toward creating a mumble-heavy environment (among other things).

Cheers.

Even if you don't see people in the channel of your choice server, don't be put off because of it. If you don't join because they haven't joined, they wont join because you haven't if you know what I mean.

Yeah, the only way it'll propagate is if people realize they have to be first. I normally jump on mumble even when I'm on a server like UKWF or watevs.

Ours is called BigD though, not GamingAU, as thats our server host.
BigD is our Forums/Community name.
