[solved] creative X-fi sound glitches and problems

After years of trouble, this fix of replacing the openAL driver of bf2 solved all my problems and i now enjoy full EAX and ULTRA sound settings again without cracking sounds during map changes or a complete soundcard shut down with the pieping of death.

DAMN you EA for including an ALPHA openal driver in your game and not bother to update it and having me to have to do it for you!

i have to be frank; it did not solve the screetching sounds during mapload completely but its a lot less and the soundcard hasnt shut down completely after mapload with a peeping sound like it has before requiring a reboot, so it was an improvement, but not a complete fix. Playing ultra sound settings with eax and everything high as gfx

something new i found : Re: X-fi performance drop with battlefield2 - Creative Labs

this allowed me to upgrade the 2007 wrapper with one from 2008 renaming this wrap file, testing now if it helps performance/solves glitches

ok im a noob when it comes to pc software, but i have an external creative x-fi 5.1 soundcard. however i can not use the ultra settings on pr. on audio renderer i can choose either, software, hardware and creative x-fi. when i have software selected, ultra high is red, but if i switch to x-fi, i can select it. but then get a message that my hardware is incompatible. does this fix it?
