I did search the forum and found nothing on this topic:
as we all know each team at the start of the round gets so many tickets and they whittle down slowly untill one gets to the magical zero mark.I find that this forces teams to attack all the time to try to bleed the other team and doesn't allow for a resonable defence
i suggest for a new gamemode tickets should be replaced by points, it will woprk in the same way as *** by attacking flags and capturing and defending them. a team would have to get x amount of Team points to win the game,there will be 2 score board point systems:
- Team points: the total amount of points gained by the team using the Squad points.
- Squad points: this is the gathered total of points of all the squad members, these will add up and give the team points.
simple concept but i know it has many problems such as people spamming FOB's etc which will make it more complicated. points would be gained by a squad getting lets say a score of 100 and the team will get 10 points, a squad can only get each point teir once for example:
- A squad of 2 get 100 points, 1 person leaves and re-joins the squad, they will not get the 10 team points from the 100 point teir for the second time.(possible?)
of course the point system would have to be worked out through gameplay situations, also this could improve team work, if we modify the point system for this gamemode (possible?):
- FOB's would not give a squad massive boosts in points anymore maybe a maxium of 50 squad points per squad member and 10 squad points
- Capturing flags will give the team steady point production, depending on the radius of the flag and position, this way there is incentive to capture flags.
- If you drop crates near FO's you will receive a certain number of points (lets say 15 ish per crate), this'll try to represent supply lines, maybe FOB's should take supply points away from supply crates and if all the crates go so does the FOB, this'll stop dashing behind enemy lines to crate outlandish FOB's where is real life there wouldn't be one.
- Everytime the team recevies 1 death, 1-3 points will be knocked off the team score (depending on kit/wether inside vehical or not).
- Everytime the team recevies a kill 1-2 points should be added to team score(depending on kit/wether inside vehical or not).
- The same above applies to vehical kills and deaths but in greater quanaties.
- For every min a commander is in his seat the team will recieve 1/2 a point (not sure on this).
- Every 3-4 mins a squad spends inside the radius of their own flag(s) gives the team recevies 3-5 points depending on the flag, if it defends easy then less point if its more open then more points.
The above is only what i have thought up so far is will add any other suggestions that i like in RED
Point system summary:
- a team needs to get x amount of points to win:
large map: 1300
medium map: 900
small map: 600
-works in the same way as *** but without the tickets
- a team can gain points by killing the enemy, holding flags, keeping up supply lines, not dieing, building FOB's and being generaly teamworky!
- at the end of a round if no-one has won the team with the most points win
- arty is given out in the same time as *** (i don't think it can be changed per gamemode?)
- teams are given points for defending flags not attacking, but you have to attack to gain more flags to defend thus a balence has been achevied, if you cap out the enemy you will gain more points than them but also it won't rule out the chance of the other team still being able to claw their way back into the game.
Basicly the whole idea of this suggestion is to take away so much from the kill as many as you can or try to cap thme out and insted try to create a more relistic background where the teams can choose to hold position if they think they're gaining points from flags quickly enough and also encourage teams to keep supply lines up, keep heli's/logi squads on their toes.
I will add ideas to the point system if suggested and i like them, i'll also edit the suggestion as time goes by with work arounds if possible.
I know its not a complete idea and that it could be exploited but i think it is workable and would provide a good gameplay enviroment for everyone.
