I was just highlighting the fact that I loathe tanks more than anything, especially on insurgency maps, just seems a bit overkill, although mildly satisfying, regardless of side, when they drove over a mine.

I've been on servers where the tank on Karbala has been lost in the first five minutes, the team didn't struggle to gain intel or were at a disadvantage because we didn't have two 12 year olds rolling around the desert in a tank, infantry > tanks any day on insurgency mode.

If everything was in a 50/50 balance, PR would basically be dodgeball. Both teams would start with no weapons, they wold have to run to the middle of the map to find a big pile of M16A4's and then try to kill each other. But, of course, the people who got killed would come onto the forums and complain that its not "Balanced".

Mabye its time to try a different server then? The last two times i've played Karbala The M1 set up and covered the FOB in B2 for 80% of the round. The other 20% of the time it was covering infantry across open terrain with 2 M2 Humvees covering its flanks. I think the final total was 30+ - 0 or similar. Without the tank, the infantry would have taken large losses crossing the ground, without the infantry the tank would have been destroyed by a suicide vehicle which they spotted.

Of course this was with a commander and the use of mumble.
The US won the round around 160-0 both times.

People need to stop using inequalities as part of opinions on kits + vehicles. Nothing is "Greater than" or "Less than" anything else. "Something" + "Something" is far better than both on their own.

what i'd like to see tracked rather then individual players kills-deaths, is ideally a squads ticket ratio.

that squad drives off in 2 tanks fully crewed, they kill 4 infantrymen, an IFV with crew and a transport chopper with a 2 man sniper team in it. But unfortunately they get bombed.

so the scoreboard would show: (4+10+2+5+3) - (10+10+6) = -2 for that squad (or maybe 24 - 26)

when a vehicle is destroyed the last person to use it's squad gets the penalty.

therefore a commander can see where the tickets are going, and which squads are dealing the damage, or which squad is constantly just wasting tickets for the team.

slightly on, slightly off topic, i'm sorry
I've done this a lot myself, whenever I'm in armour I keep track of the amount of kills and vehicles destroyed in my head, so when/if I die I can work out the net amount of tickets gained/lost to the team. It would be very useful for a commander to see how the tickets have been distributed, to see which squads are doing the damage. It could also help the devs to fine-tune values, working out which weapons are perhaps over powered/ which assets are useful on maps and which are ineffective or not being used properly and how to encourage that tactic to change.

Yes it wouldn't be perfect unless you could track assists to kills as well, but I guess it would even out in the end - Also it would mean the enemy team could work out how many tickets you had left from the amount of assets killed. Maybe a squad/player ratio would work better number of tickets gained for each ticket lost.
