Changing reload behavior
With tanks and IFVs, is it possible to make it such that when you expend your ammunition on one munition, it will reload only if you keep that weapon selected? So if you switch from say, HE to AP on an autocannon, the ammo type you were reloading will have the reloading process dropped, or stopped where it was, so it will not reload in the background.

Re: Changing reload behavior
i assume you're talking about individual reolads from magazines in the vehicle and not rearming the weapon at the main?
for tanks not so much, the shell has to be manually loaded each time anyways so it wont make a difference and it does the same when you switch between shell types.
as for APCs each type of shell is separately fed by chain through different ports, changing to another round means simply rotating a lock of some sort. so while the gunner is firing the AP shells there's no reason why the loader cant reach in and reload the HE chain. even if it were a single feed port where the rounds need to be removed before the other type can be inserted, its all the same since the magazine holding the belt would be separate to begin with. remember that in game the vehicles have a crew of 2, but that 2 man crew is supposed to represent a crew of at least 4.
now if you mean rearming at the main, still no. they're just stacking stuff into the cargo compartments which has nothing to do with the weapon

Information in the hands of a critical thinker is invaluable, information alone is simply dangerous.

For IFVs, it would be the switching between TOWs and autocannon that I'm really more worried about. In a three man crew, the driver would be driving, and so either the commander or gunner has to pop a hatch and load in the TOWs. It would also mean that you could quickly switch to TOWs without having a large weapon selection penalty as we do now.
For the BMP-3, it would mean that you can actually use the HE-FRAG ammo in the 100mm cannon instead of keeping the AT-10 Stabber loaded all the time.
