Looking for a beginner-friendly PR server

Post by veribigbos »

As the title states, I'm looking for a beginner-friendly server that a newbie like yours truly could join, and familiarise himself with the different teamwork aspects of PR that I've come to notice can't really be practiced in singleplayer (whats up with the bots saying "no" to everything, anyways?)

I read somewhere about some training servers, I believe they would be perfect as well

There are no beginner friendly servers the training servers are taken down as the servers never where admined and therefore in most cases was the wild west.

You have Coop servers, but if you want to try out different vehicles just start up a local server with or without bots and just play around there. I cant remember exactly what you had to press, but its nearly the same.

If your from finland though you can join Pelituka.fi server I believe thats the servers name long time since I logged on PR now, but I think they have some good teamplay and alot of people from Finland play there.

I found this sentence quite funny and since this is a war game forum I will put it here. No offense to the french just a good laugh.

Ah, okay.

A quick search on Game-Monitor came up with this:
Pelitutka.fi PR v0.917 | BattleField 2 Server Information | Game-Monitor.com :: Server Search, Monitoring, Stats and more
I believe that is the server you meant. I'll go take a look.

Thanks for the help :p

Good to see you seeking help rather than jumping right in, just to add to what zimmer said when ingame try and join squads called "teamwork, TW VOIP, ENG VOIP, FIN VOIP," etc to increase the chance of getting a good squad.

Welcome to the forums, please do post any questions you have.

Really all servers are friendly but most servers dont want people learning to fly during a regular match.

The PR community is a tight knit society and everyone is willing to help. Just tell your SL that you are learning the game and all should be fine.

Good luck and take your time, rushing around is a easy way to die.

Yeah, I've lurked the guide area for a couple of days, and I read about the squad naming stuff. Pretty sure I'll get the hang of PR sooner or later.

It's not as hard as you think it will be reading the forums =P

Join a squad, tell them your new and may need some help, and if they kick you then fine you didn't need them anyway, if they let you staty and help you, then you might learn something =D

Since you are Finnish I would recommend the Pelitutka server. It's a pretty active Finnish server, and I'm sure that some of the Finns in there would love to explain the game to a fellow countryman. :p

Join Pelitutka on prime time when the server is populated. You should find lot's of players that are willing to help you out and show you the ropes, don't be afraid to ask "stupid" questions. The language shouldn't be a problem either :)

Looking forward to seeing you on Pelitutka.

Just say that you are new and if the SL has some skill you will have a good time.
PR players are willing to help in 90% of all cases. :)

Whenever you see me on the server, spam to get invited in my sqd. I love new guys since I can still remember my first hours of gameplay - total nuts!

Read
The
Manual!

Trust me, many don't read it and end up looking like idiots when they ask basic questions in global chat. It will save you alot of time and embarrassment. :)

That is all.

Oh and yeah Pelituka is like the main active PR Finnish server even tho I never played there myself, I've heard good things.

I also wish to point out reading the manual (once again) cause it's everything but experience. Play on Pelitutka, there's lot players from other countries too but alaways team, what goes under the name of FIN INF or FIN VOIP. And whenever you see Winstonkalkaros-FIN, go ahead and ask something you don't know.
