Shotgun in Specialist - Insurgent

Post by Dr.Roy.Mustang »

Hi, I just need to clarify due to the new version change in the shotgun... It changed from slug breacher -> shotgun. So can we still use it to arrest civilians or is it now considered a killing a "Martyr"?

Oh yes, if you die as a Martyr, that is good for the taliban right? Bad for the US or Brits / Oposition? (eg. loose tickets???)

How come when I spawn out straight away and get shot I am not a Martyr?

Last time I looked. There is a time from spawn delay before you can become a "Martyr". I Am not sure. And the shotgun can kill "anybody" at any time. It's still a breacher as far as I know. So counts and "non-Lethal". But again. I Could be wrong.

The last few times I shot civvies with the buckshot shotgun, i never got the "shot civilian outside RoE" message, so yes, you can shoot civilians with the shotgun, and it's like arresting them.
Everything about collaborators is also in the manual, page 22.

1 minute delay, same as when you do a collaborative action, just wait 1 min and go die
- british team loses 10 intelligence when killing you, read the manual if you dont get the point of that

shotguns can "arrest" people, since theyre declared "Non-lethal" but still are able to breach most things with 1 or 2 shots

I read -10 IP but that has nothing got to do with tickets right? Or if I am wrong... Tickets are IP points...

The insurgents only loose tickets when Blufor find a cache, they used to have 100 tickets (10 caches) now they have 70 tickets (7 caches).
You need a certain amount of IP (Intelligence points sorry IDK how many) to show the next cache, these you get from killing insurgents (not civi/collaborator) or arresting civis using the restrainer or shotgun.
Therefor when a Cache is destroyed blufor must cruise about shooting insurgents, or build a FOB to lure them in like flies to a light.

If you kill a civi out of ROE showing a martyr death the blufor loose tickets plus other penalties as shown in the manual.

So in conclusion. Killed in Martyr = BluFor loose IP points + Tickets. I read you.

Admin, can you answer me if BlueFor the new patch on the shotgun till an arresting weapon or did it became a lethal weapon?

Eg: Getting shot by one = Martyr?

if ur shot by a shotgun as a civi, just like getting hit by restrainers, ur arrested. You don't die a martyr

Dying as a martyr only causes the BLUFOR to lose Intelligence Points, not tickets.

The shotgun is considered nonlethal for civilians and collaborators(arrests), but proves lethal for the insurgents/taliban(not an arrest).

If you kill a civilian within the ROE(i.e. he used a vehicle, weapon, epipen/resuscitate, or spawned in, within the last minute) it counts as a normal insurgent kill, gaining the BLUFOR 1IP(+).

If a civilian dies as a martyr, BLUFOR loses 10IP(-), if ANY insurgent is arrested with the restrainers(correct me if I'm wrong) it counts as an arrest and they gain 10IP(+).

Killing a Cache causes the Insurgents to lose 10 tickets(the only way for insurgents to lose tickets on insurgency.) and the BLUFOR to gain 25 tickets.

Holy **** misinformation spreads like crazy :|

Blufor gets 25 tickets for destroying a cache.
Blufor do not lost tickets for killing civilians outside of the ROE, only Intel. Intel determines how quickly caches become "known"
Civilian can be shot without penalty 60 seconds after: Spawning, Equipping either Epipen or Resuscitate, getting out of a vehicle, picking up another kit.

And Roy... The shotgun arrests insurgents and civilians, regardless whether they are in the ROE or not.

Edit: ZephyrDark covered most of my points while i was typing but you get the point

Im suprised theres still so much confusion when the basic principles of civi ROE's havnt changed in several years, just when you can and cant shoot them. And that its all in the manual that no one seems to read.

RTFM they said, it'll tell you what you need to know they said. They lied. Collaborators are still confusing as all hell in the field.

Shotguns don't give a penalty, either that or everyone I play with have no qualms with martyring a ton of collabs.
Players might be hardcoded, but that sure doesn't seem to stop anybody from trying.

The only winning move is not to play. Insurgency, that is.

And to quote
Page 15 of 0.91 Manual wrote:Shotguns are deadly when used in close quarters. They can also be used to
breach locked doors. Insurgents shot with them count as being arrested. This is
intended for cases where civilian collaborators hide in hard to reach spots.
Page 23 of 0.91 Manual wrote:You can arrest civilians (and other insurgents) with
the restrainer which replaces the knife on insurgency
maps. The shotgun can also be used to arrest any
insurgents. Civilians that suicide are counted as
arrested and give bonus IP to the coalition team but they take only 60-75
seconds to respawn.
Page 23 of 0.91 Manual wrote:Civilians and unarmed insurgents are covered by rules of engagement (ROE).
Civilians doing the following within the last minute are considered combatants
and may be shot without penalty:
- spawn or pick up a kit
- use a weapon or vehicle (stones are not counted as weapons)
- use resuscitate (hands) or epipen

...

As of Project Reality 0.9 running over civilians or killing them while they use
ladders or ropes will also result in a penalty if done outside of the ROE.
Which part is ambiguous?
