At what Ranges is the SRAW effective in PR
In real life the sraw is effective from the range of 17 meters to 600 meters, im wondering if it does blow up in PR at ranges withhin 17 meters or if it keeps on going after 600 meters or does it run out of fuel?

in PR the range is unlimited, it flies and controllable until it hits something
and rampo, his facts are correct for stationary target

I like links
However i've noticed when firing the SRAW it cant be controlled for several meters after launch. Anyone else seen this?
It's weird because i see the Eryx handle perfectly right after launch
oh and welcome to the forums razor

Its uncontrollable because the primary rocket (which controls thrust and direction) is not ignited until it reaches a certain distance. I don't need a source because if it did ignite right away, the operator would be blasted with rocket exhaust. Which could cause injury, or burn clothing.
Sometimes physics and common-sense can be a source too
Although the Eryx is an annomally, i don't know why that one is controlled from launch (in game)

The real SRAW is not controllable at all after launch. It flys a course based on where it thinks the target will be, and if the target stops moving right after launch, it will miss. That is why it lists the moving target range as only 200m.

I wish the SRAW was like that in game or at least somewhat close to how it is in real life. Even though it would possibly be difficult I'm sure it could be coded somehow. At this time it's unrealistic it's even ingame at least for the us army because they dont use it so why not make it perform like it does in rl?CastleBravo wrote:The real SRAW is not controllable at all after launch. Wrong. I shot an SRAW into the back of a T90 at roughly 20m, the missile, instead of blowing up, went into the back and didn't explode, as if it just went through the tank. The tank was damaged on white smoke stupidly enough. The tank moved a bit more after this screenshot when I shot it:L4gi wrote:In PR its effective until it hits something.

Shows that a high-tech anti tank missile to the BACK engine compartment of a T-90 can't destroy it, bit stupid if you ask me.

Nah it has an arming distance in PR dtacs, like RL. I think in PR it's a bit bigger of a distance though, but yeah if you shoot at a vehicle too close it will impact and do no damage, like a grenade round.dtacs wrote:

That screenshot doesn't do it justice. I can guarantee that the tank was at the least 20m away from me.Psyrus wrote:Nah it has an arming distance in PR dtacs, like RL. The blast at that range would be really dangerous, IRL.dtacs wrote:That screenshot doesn't do it justice. I can guarantee that the tank was at the least 20m away from me.
The motor kicks in within that range, but I doubt that the explosion can be triggered.

Is this also with AT 4 and other LAT's?Psyrus wrote:Nah it has an arming distance in PR dtacs, like RL. I think in PR it's a bit bigger of a distance though, but yeah if you shoot at a vehicle too close it will impact and do no damage, like a grenade round.

Arming distance 17mDraakon wrote: Like it was said before, arming distance. It's there to prevent the rocket blowing up infront of your face.
Made big to ensure people read.
Read above, arming distance.Celestial1 wrote:The blast at that range would be really dangerous, IRL.

To be honest, an explosion like this (0:30) wouldn't be as violent to kill me from that distance. If it is fatal at a 17m blast distance, why would they not increase the arming distance?
