[Advice] The armoured vehicle has right of way

Post by Rudd »

One of the things in PR that has always amused and infuriated me is that infantry seem to think that they shouldn't check before crossing the street, or not stand behind stationary manned armoured vehicles.

the earliest memory I have of school as a child was learning to Stop, Look, Listen and live. Yet players ingame don't seem to practice this :P

When there is a large amount of weaponary and armour moving at high speed on a road or through a traffic entrance, you don't get in its way. If it beeps its horn at you because you are in its way, get out of its way, if you are standing in the repair depot, get out of its way, if you are crossing a road...check for enemies and check for moving vehicles, if there is a vehicle, get out of its way.

Get out of its way

staring dumbly at it in as if it has invaded the 1 m radius you call your personal space just causes delays.

ingame there are Pedestrian areas and vehicle areas, i.e. if you are on a road and you get in a vehicle's way, accidents can and will happen.

IRL if you cross a road without checking, you're taking your life in your own hands.

Please lads, think about preventing accidents ingame, I've seen enough arguements about who was in the wrong :) By behaving responsibly, you can avoid the accident in the first place.

and if you need help deciding which vehicle has right of way when trying to go past each other; the one with the bigger gun gets to go first, unless there is an emergency, such as one vehicle urgently needs repairs.

I was driving a technical to Hamas main on Gaza and there was a car in front of me driving too.

As I was a combat engineer and mining roads, I pressed k and started to type "Hey (guy in front), want to switch vehicles?" but he stopped in the road, I hit him, and we both died in a huge fireball.

His response was "I forgave you, but c'mon..."

I felt bad lol

in the UK its against the law to talk on a mobile phone while driving, I guess this falls in to teh same category :P

I'd tend to agree with you Rudd, but there are a variety of factors that make this not the case.
One, armored vehicle drivers have their "minimap" visible at all times, allowing them to see all friendly forces surrounding them. Another issue being that PR players drive much like motorists in my town -- they fail to signal, drive down the wrong side of the street, and are in general, a danger to themselves and others.

Pedestrians are squishy, and have cream filling -- they have the right of way.

Man if you are walking on the road then somethings definitely wrong with you. It just calls for getting killed anyway (no matter on which side). Unless its Korengal which can be legit in the hills

And this also connects to the thread of people not caring about their lives ingame.

Stupider you cross the street, stupider you will look under my tracks.

Yesterday i was running back to main with a humvee, crossing the fields on fallujah, a friendly squad crosses right infront of me, i even try to avodin one of them, but no, he still runs into the humvee and dies.

Also, what iss wrong with people sprinting and pushing you in the back, wich results in hurting you. Do you bump into people when you run in real life too? Not to mention it would look stupid as hell and the front guy would be just a tad pissed off. (Well if meele wouldnt do instant kill i'd hit those people in the game.)

I was once driving my Stryker some time ago on EJOD, leaving the base. A logistics truck was coming full speed back from the frontlines and rammed me right in my own lane of the road. Suprisingly the Stryker blew up and the logistics truck barely started smoking.

It dosen't matter if I walk into the middle of a road in front of a oncoming car, they just see the [R-DEV] tags, swerve off the road, flip, spin into the air and then ending up crashing onto the ground and bursting into a huge fireball :D

Another safety tip is to stay away from the rear of a manned trucks at all times. You never know when the driver is going to blindly back up, and if its a logi truck, he may drop a crate on you. It seems like every round there is someone who gets killed this way.

In smaller vehicles like cars and techies, the minimap isnt there, and since the rear-view mirror is, well...a gray smashed up panel, If im stood 10M behind it getting ammo, the engine in it reverses so quickly and squishes me against the crate.
There needs to be a "C" rear-view option to all vehicles without a) A swivel view or b) A minimap.

Then again...Why not increase the angle you can look over your right shoulder?
