When i get my new computer, i give it a go, Arma i heard got a lot of things wrong, but it got some really key things right, for example you can lean around corners and make better use of cover so i heard.

And as for the controls being a bit sluggish, id have too agree the mouse and aiming is a bit a bit weird coming from BF2, but the first thing they will axe is the cross hairs so you won't be firing from the hip like you do in vanilla ARMA, so who cares,

Controls in BF2 i think are not much better, they really don't give you a very fine degree of control you need for this game, when i was playing the demo, i noticed i had a little more control it was not as spontaneous as in BF2 but then again that realistic to ,it definitely a lot less arcadish as BF2 is.,

What I like to see is PR finically with all vestiges of arcade game play removed. A game that has realistic fire fights and a cover system.

And if where lucky PR arma might just provide it.

Here is one thing. No more silly stupid game killing "Deviation". The game has weapon sway. So you will know that when you do pull the trigger. The bullet will go where the cross hairs was pointing at. Be one with the sway.

RHYS: digital crosshairs can be turned on/off in difficulty even in Vanilla.

Big Health Warning = What Follows is my opinion....

The thing that makes PR one of the best MP Online games out there is the 'Forced' Team work!!
Without that aspect, it would just be a better looking vBF2.

for example;

1. Have to be in a squad to select kits
2. Have to have the proper kit to operate vehicles
3. Have to have more than one player to operate complex vehicles
This list goes on.

So if you take that 'essence' of what I believe makes PR so great, you could apply it to any platform.
(within reason)
I play ArmA2 and when played like PR (although it is not forced) it is so much fun!!
BUT, without that element of required teamwork and co operation it just becomes frustrating.

Added to that the lack of decent comms within ArmA2, the forced teamwork is not as achievable.

If the Devs can make ArmA2 :P R play like BF2 :P R then I believe that they would have a winner
and people would make the transition eventually. As ArmA2 looks (when running properly) AWESOME!

It took me a year to upgrade my PC when vBF2 came out, I was still happy to play BF1942
until I upgraded.

So in answer to the OP Question. IMO BF2 :P R will fade out in time, if the DEVS are able to do
for ArmA2 what PR does for vBF2...... That remains to be seen, and if it is the case
then it will not happen overnight!

In conclusion PR IS the game/community/the teamwork! The platform is secondary!

I have ArmA2 at my Dad's house working, but my computer here would get killed trying to run it. Probably why I'm sticking with PR:BF2 when i'm over here.

If the dev's can fix every thing that wrong with vanilla and make it very team orientated then yeah definitely.

because it quite obvious that the BF2 has been pushed to the limit, for Pr the progress it really needs to find a new host.
