I find the IDF have a distinct advantage on this map. They are called TANK X 2. They also act as battering rams because they can seat a squad...

Actually the Zippo and even the Bradley were made to be battle taxis, go in and go back. Jk, thats from that sarcastic film documenting the M2 Bradley's development.Web_cole wrote:Actually they're called "Zippo's" cause, and I quote, "they go up in flames so quickly"
Yeah, its a hard map for the IDF no doubt. The Merkava is basically stuck outside near IDF main, unless it wants to die, the M113s are practically useless, and the city is VERY easy for HAMAS to lock down and stop any infantry from advancing.
The only option I can really imagine working is to push with everything at one single point, and just force your way through. Though I doubt you'd see that happen in a pubby game.
Would not want to play this one in the PRT
EDIT: Ah, I've already commented in this thread. How about that![]()
Honestly, I think this map requires alot of skill and speed to win on this map, the only hope IDF has winning, if it can quickly establish a FOB. Tanks can help, but they're almost useless inside the city with bomb cars and such.

The introduction of the Namer HAPC[heavy apc] should even the odds..the asset is in the work and might be in the next content patch..no promise tho.

If there were just more entrance points to the city, or no wall at all around it.. Gaza is together with Siege at Ochamchira on my never-play it map list. I had good rounds on Gaza, but most are about being killed while trying to get into the city.

I find having some grenadiers fire smoke from main helps infantry to move across the open ground.

The only 2 rounds I've ever played on Gaza had the Hamas winning both times. I was on the winning team once and the losing team once.

i think it needs some mounted guns facing the town from the base, im not talking about saws im talking 50 cals with zoom.
or add in alot more shacks in the open space
fix the roads doing damage to civi cars and tanks
fix the bright green color under the ocean
fix the rubberbanding when in the middle of the city
remove all but 1 bomb car and add a gary and make them spawn at ins main
UP the APCs health to make up for the fact its mostly empty space( think big helos on the candia maps), and make it like the hummers where 50 cals can kill the inf inside.
thets the main thing that bothers me

you can see this as it's in real life. to assault an enemy stronghold (in this case Gaza) you need to cooperate as a force with all assets available, trying to create green zones and organize your next step from there.

That is fncking great to hear, man. About time those m113s be replaced, seriously. Me and my buddies call them "Odnorazki" which translates from russian as one-time-use-only, lol. And even more dumb is that the transport m113 which has room for like 6 infantry has no offensive capability but the one for 2 ppl does. I dont get that.'[R-DEV wrote:ZZEZ;1359849']The introduction of the Namer HAPC[heavy apc] should even the odds..the asset is in the work and might be in the next content patch..no promise tho.

Some people i was playing with used to call them 'shit weasels', and reffered to the spandrel as a 'shit fox'.

M113 is also known as Zippo in the IDF...Zippo for going up in flames so fast...
M113 is one of the few vehicles that don't fit the IDF doctrine but are in use because of their quantity and the fact that the US dumped them on us.

isn't that a problem only the player can fix? or is it due to something on the map?Uthric wrote: fix the rubber banding when in the middle of the city

if the IDF would use their APCs properly they wouldnt have problems.
Instead people jump into the APCs and ZOOM off alone.
Just remember the size of that dome of death, the Hamas cant go past the wall, or else they start to die.
On another note: Id like to see hamas have civilian collaborators for use as human shields

Dude, calm down, the map is meant to go to the hamas, hence the name GAZA beach, they hamas in real life are strong in that region,so its meant to not go with the IDF,but it all depends on who is the fastest to get to the caches,to defend or attack.

The NAMER apc will even things out a bit. CROWS .50 cal on a tank shell =)
Also, Just sit the tanks back. The tanks on gaza beach are awesome, you just don't know how to use them properly. Having a bad team on a good map can easily spoil it for some.

i honestly don't believed this map is unbalanced...... If the IAF use teamwork they will do fine. If anyhting hamas could use a REAL big red no?. Also has anyone purposed underground tunnels to get out of the main leading towards the outside areas?

Re: is Gaza incredibly lopsided towards hamas?
You can't use them properly even when you try to. One random RPG or even extensive PKM fire makes it totally useless. Or simply killing the gunner.mosinmatt wrote:if the IDF would use their APCs properly they wouldnt have problems.
You're implying that they can't shoot from out of it, which they often do with stolen IDF kits, which are stupidly overpowered.Just remember the size of that dome of death, the Hamas cant go past the wall, or else they start to die.
On a related note: resuggestion. On another note: Id like to see hamas have civilian collaborators for use as human shields

no however you know they find these tunnels all the time going from gaza to egypt. when you talk about this region you have to realize the relativley small size of the area. So no it is not ww1 but this is realistic for today.dtacs wrote:

Re: is Gaza incredibly lopsided towards hamas?
No, its unrealistic for the IDF to be digging tunnels, or using the existing smuggling ones. HAMAS doesn't need them since they're already in the city, they aren't trying to get to the IDF main.ForceR3c0n wrote:no however you know they find these tunnels all the time going from gaza to egypt. when you talk about this region you have to realize the relativley small size of the area. I'd like to see more destroyable buildings and walls in maps like gaza. Only thing about gaza I don't like is that the rounds take a long time and it gets dull. IDF generally get pushed back into their corner and get pwned.
