Two suggestions regarding the "Nothing Active" weapon.

Post by richyrich55 »

Suggestion #1:

If it's possible with the Logitrucks to have the "Nothing Active" weapon, why not put that same thing on transhelos? If I'm using my joystick (which I do use to fly helos) and I hit the supply crate button on it by accident, I will waste a crate. If I could switch to the "NA" weapon on my keyboard and switch back when I need to drop a crate, that would eliminate the wasted crate situation.

Suggestion #2:

Rename the "Nothing Active" weapon to "Safe Mode".

I apologize if my post sounds a little incoherent, I'm going through mild insomnia but I hope you can get what I'm trying to say in the first suggestion.

yup! something similar would be accidentally blowing yourself up prematurely in a bomb car.

1. Meh, I wouldn't really like that, I'd have to press F every time I want to drop a crate and then right click.

2. It's not like it has a name in-game. It's just a name to show its meaning.

You'd rather have to go all the way back to main to grab another crate because you say ... sneezed, rather then hit F before you drop your crate? Some people amaze me.

Yes, because every time I fly I sneeze...

Dropping your crates in a logi truck happens to me way more often than in a helicopter. Plus, a logi truck doesn't need constant input to keep it operational so pressing a key upon deploying the crates wouldn't be too bad.

I'd rather focus on keeping the aircraft functional than having to press a sometimes hard-to-reach key every time I would want to drop a crate.

1. Ye it can be done its pretty simple, I myself have a safety catch over my fire button on my joystick so I dont have the problem hehe :D

2. I did consider Safe Mode as the name but didn't think it was quite right. If enough people think it should be called that I can easily change the name :)

Haha, simple idea but very useful. I believe this would come in handy :)

@Brummy: The way they seem to be talking to do it, u dont have to use it. Just leave it on the "deploy crate" or w/e its called.

I like both ideas.

Brummy, if you don't want to use the feature, you just set it to 'active' once while the helo is warming up and leave it that way. For the rest of us, it will be a useful feature while flying.

I think nothing Nothing Active and Active is fine. For something that's not a weapon, Safe Mode doesn't seem quite right.

you could always set a hotkey for alternative fire to something on your keyboard you know....

since you'll ahve to press that button to unsafe the crate anyway you might as well save everyone some work and just that button to deploy your crate...

i wouldnt really like the 1st suggestion, mainly cause its time consuming when you want to get away from the btr shootin you and secondly becuase i never had the problem of dropping crates when i dont want to.
dont want to drop crates? take your finger off the drop button.

It looks it might be implanted soon as in the close support bridge video at 0:17 there seems to be a choice of what you want to select to drop

I'd love to see it on bomb vehicles as well. It will simulate having to activate the bomb(s).

If the name isn't changed I would at least like to see the NA on all vehicles/aircraft that have crates/bombs/c4.
