Close the door

So is it just me or did the wooden doors lose their ability to be shoveled shut?

I'll admit it was a little strange shoveling a wooden door, but it was a great feature. I was even hoping that this would be extended to all gates & doors, but then last patch it seems like it was removed completely.

Am I the only one who is missing this feature? Was there a reason for its removal?

Huh? I cant say I even knew about this feature and never have seen it done before tbh :o ops:.
Now I know about it I defo want it back.

I would much rather see doors closable again, otherwise I find doors quite useless and a wate of the destructable object limit.

ingame atm I see an open door and I think, we'll someone in in there

if I see a closed door, the chances of someone being in there are near zero.

I'd much rather have to have a specialist with my squad so we can break down doors that enemies close behind them, and actually have to fight over that house that I've opened.

it would also help hide caches, caches in buildings with doors sometimes get revealed by how the door to them is open already.

Dont know exactly when they where removed, assuming the latest patch, but in previous versions you could "shovel" them shut. Ie build them to full health.

Maybe we could think of something different. Shovelling isn't quite the best way, it's not obvious to new players and not all kits have shovels...

I'd certainly love to have closeable doors play a large role in CQC.

Well the kits that usually go into compounds mostly have Shovels (the only one that doesnt is the Medic...any other non-shovel shouldnt even be near uncleared areas)

I didn't play in a while, but I was mainly thinking of insurgent kits. Unless they all have shovels now, then nvm

what about the weird closeable door in missle silo at baracuda. Or the one in the tunnel at Operation Ghost Train?

thats a bit different mikey, thats a triggerable while the breachable doors are destroyable objects

It was real useful, I remember defending a cache on Fallujah, we'd open the door to let a couple people out or one guy who was stuck trying to get in, then just shovel it back. If the enemy came in and opened the door yet we repulsed them, we could just reclose the door and our defenses would be solid again.

:shock: Oh it would be pe perfect if we can get this option back.

Truth is I even did not aware that we can close the doors with shovel. So basicly I'm getting upset of something that I never used but anyways :)

lol, everyone's just finding out about this, and they all want it back. Unless there's a reallyyyyyyyyyy good explenation on why this was removed, i vote for bringing it back

While we would love to do that the work that goes into making a single door open and close with the "E" key is really hard and time consuming.
I'd like it if 3 melee attacks could open doors but not padlocks, there isn't a practical alternative to teh shovel for closing doors tbh.
