I just recently started using mumble about 2 weeks ago and since then i've had 5 BSOD pop up on me while playing. These have been my first and only BSODs since i upgraded to Win 7 about 6 months ago. It's happened the same way every time it's occurred: ill join a match and can play till the rounds end, once the second map starts ill be able to play for a few minutes then ill get a BSOD. This only occurs when i'm on mumble (i only use mumble on the TG server). W/O mumble i havent experienced any BSODs.
my system Win 7 Ultimate 64
e6600 @ 2.6
4 gigs ddr2 800
x2 HD4850 - tho crossfire and the black n white vision bleed out effect = a completely black screen
Ive reinstalled BF2 and mumble with no avail and have no idea what else i can do to remedy the situation
edit: i forgot to mention i kill all background processes while gaming
After a memory check, if it clears and you still BSOD, then unseat and reset your ram sticks. Seeing as you've reinstalled, I'm not going to suggest that to you because we all know it's a pain in the ***.
Run a memory test, then pull out and put your ram back in. Report back.
Rest assured, that with a heart that's pure, we'll be victorious and not let our hate get the best of us.

I'd say BSODs are most often caused by faulty drivers. They are executed in the kernel space, where unhandled exception leads to system crash instead of simple application crash.
thanks for the replies, i ran memtest86 and they all checked out ok. Havent really had much time to play but this weekend i plan on pulling some PR stretches since the misses is out of town, well see if i get anymore BSODs

I really have no idea what you just said but im gonna go ahead and give my sound and graphic card drivers an update as well Any others i should be updating?
I miss-spoke. I meant from what I've seen ram seemed to be a top suspect.
Clueless_noob is right too, probably more so. :d uh:
I Googled BSOD and found this:
BSoDs in Windows operating systems.
According to Microsoft, bluescreens on NT-based Windows systems are
usually caused by poorly-written device drivers
or malfunctioning hardware.
In the Win9x era, incompatible DLLs or bugs in the kernel of the operating system could also cause bluescreens.
They can also be caused by physical faults such as faulty memory, power supplies, overheating of computer components, or hardware running beyond its specification limits. Bluescreens have been present in all Windows-based operating systems since Windows 3.1; earlier, OS/2 suffered the Black Screen of Death, and early builds of Windows Vista displayed the Red Screen of Death after a boot loader error.
Are you by any chance using an X-Fi sound card playing in X-Fi mode?
Is your BSOD for 0x50 Page Fault in non page area or something like that?
This is an existing problem when using Vista and W7 that AFAIK, does not have a solution until Creative fixes the problem in their drivers. Currently, I just quit and restart PR and reconnect to the server between map changes.
